Might as well leave my impressions here: Best 15 hours of gaming ever! Greatest game music this side of Grim Fandango! The most beautifulest gameworld evre!! It is possible that for a part of that my new ass-kicking graphics card is to blame! It sucks — nay it is a crime against humanity that this game was received so shittily. The only platformer ever that manages to justify kleptomania. If Psychonauts turns out to be Beyond Good and Evil 2 all will be well and baby Jesus will never cry again. I think I'll just play it in German again.... and then... FRENCH! Only one annoyance I have to report is that Pey'j — or whatever his name is — sounds like George W. Bush.

Also, the broadband penetration is not particularly impressive; 30 or so percent in the US, less than that in Europe (and 124% in Korea). I don't have broadband, so the idea of a game having to download tons of shit in the background is quite unnerving. If I have to download a huge-ass patch, I usually go to the handy college library, download it, burn it or put it on a memory stick and I run with that. I remember I had to download the first XP Service Pack in a Mac lab. It was the only lab I could successfully argue I had the right to access (didn't have any computer classes there, ever, but it is in the art building), and the only lab I knew of that had CD burners in all machines. Took me a while to explain to the technician what in the hell's name did I think I were doing.

Oh, wow. It is so fast it's embarrasing. 2GHz, Pentium 4, 5somethingsomething memory, not a lot, but well more than I had before. As I am writing this, I am installing Beyond Good and Evil in the background and listening to the propaganda song that I believe is in Turkish or Portugese or Albanian or Hungarian.... I have just covered all major European language groups. Well, anyway, once I am done I will be watching the game as God (Nietzsche?) intended it to be seen: in all its Ati Radeon 9600 pro glory. I feel lewd. Unfortunately, I will have to go to a party later tonight, so only a little play will I have.
