1. The last two days I was at mobilism, a conference about webdevelopment on the mobile phone. One of the presentations was by Seb Lee-Delisle. There was a live stream of that presentation and I want to share it with you all because I think you'll find it very interesting: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/22504732 It's a presentation where he uses the phones and tablets from the audience to make one big display. All the sessions of this conference have been recorded and will be online later on but please check this out!
2. pixelphones (And other cool mobile stuff)

I guess you should have been there to really see how cool this is As he explains in the presentation, there were plans to do this with 20.000 people. which would have been beyond awesome.
3. pixelphones (And other cool mobile stuff)

I'm a tiny bit sad that no one out of the 73 viewers bothered to reply to this thread
4. Oh another question that popped into my head, just right now: How are we going to account for terrain? Ae the plots going to follow the contours? I do hope so, since that gives it a more interesting look. And speaking of a cool uniform build:
5. Tabacco: wool is for fluffy stuff, not for making buildings with. Unless we're doing outside carpeting or something...
6. I don't like using wool to build stuff with I want stone & wood and other real construction materials!
7. Torchlight II

kroms: are you on my steam friends list? if not, then add me, so I can gift you a copy.
8. New Forums! Post feedback, notes, etc here

Ah, that's just flash being a dick. Which can be easily fixed by using the new embed code, not this crappy <object> mess.
9. IDLE THUMBS KICKSTARTER!

I shall be patient and wait. (I can't wait! )
10. edit: yaay for the title change! Now all it needs now is a sticky thread!
11. Can we rename this thread to "Obligatory comical YouTube thread ][: The fall of youtube"? Also: part 2:
12. Game writing: the best of the worst

You can still watch the video by copying the random string and putting http://www.youtube.com/watch?v= in front of it.
13. Well, Thumbs

Are you trying to tell us something, Greg?
14. G4ming Keyb0rdz

This is my keyboard, there are many like them, but this is mine: A wireless dell keyboard I mostly bought for the media player controls.
15. IDLE THUMBS KICKSTARTER!

Am I correct is assuming that you're still sending out backer surveys? At what tier did you guys start?
16. I want to go visit San Fransisco properly some time. Last time I was there it was at the end of a 3 week trip and I was a bit traveled out so to speak. Didn't even cross the golden gate bridge! And next time I would love to meet some more idle thumbs people! And to keep things on topic: this cast made me want to play the walking dead. But first I got to finish this mountain I'm building.
17. New Forums! Post feedback, notes, etc here

yay! new forums! Even though this is the first thread I'm looking at I'm liking it so far! One feature request: can you add this to the style sheet? body { max-width: 1280px; } That way things don't go ridiculously wide on big screens and keeps things readable. [edit] This might be just my custom style sheet messing things up, but the pop-up that shows up when you hover over a username is positioned way too much to the right. Oh and one easy way to remove that gradient in the header is to add the following to the CSS: #branding { margin-bottom: -71px !important; } #header_bar, #primary_nav { background: none transparent !important; } (You can probably leave off the !important bit though) [edit 2] Can we turn off the post count? We didn't have that on the old forums, did we?
18. winamp 5 kicks a$$

And here's why: the avs-editor. Where you can build your visual plugins and test them on the fly, it's awesome! I found out about the avs-editor just as I was about to go to bed and stayed up till 3 in the morning just toying with it. And here are the results The first one is just a bunch of standard effects thrown together and the second one is a 'remix' of an excisting one... holyfunk.zip
19. Another vote for a spawn relocation. Somewhere unmapped, obviously! And this time not a spawn tree, but a town hall. Oh and 12x12x12 plots to build your town house on this time around! also: http://djazz.mine.nu/lab/minecraft_items/
20. Movie/TV recommendations

Joss Whedon on movies:
21. Life

I'm currently at http://www.mobilism.nl/ and just met wrestlevania in real life! Another thumber for my list
22. Can anyone use Dreamweaver?

Speaking of good editors. I've recently switched to phpstorm at work. And I rather like it. Excellent versioning system integration, auto complete and a superfast search function. It also has some excellent plugins to integrate it with your favorite issue tracker. Deffo worth checking out.
23. I connected the idletown central station to the spawn tree subway system today The central hall still needs some more benches. But it's got it's own newsstand now thanks to Thompson. Got some Idletown gossip? Place a sign and let the world know! If your house is facing the square, please watch out for the subway tunnels when you dig down. Oh and feel free to dig the other 3 tunnels: East to twig's folly, West to The automated farm and North to I don't know where yet. There are also a few plots free along the road next to the homebarrel that are waiting for a new builder/owner. Since I'll be off to Front trends in Warsaw, Poland I won't be around until Sunday at the earliest. So please try not to blow everything up while I'm gone!
24. (next time you're holding a loaf of bread, try clicking with your right mouse button)
25. Just pick a 9x9 plot somewhere along the road towards the square. I'll mark out some plots.
