  4. Unlocking Half-Life 2

[ADSL helpdesk info blurb]The maximum lenght of an ADSL line from house to dslam is 5 KM, and if you're at 5KM then you can only get 128/128 kbps if the copperwire is brand new and properly maintained. So the rural area's are screwed cause the phonecentres are too far spread out. They will never see fast internet untill they scientist come up with a way to increase the line lenght and the comercial bobo's find it comercially viable to upgrade the network.[/ADSL helpdesk info blurb]

  9. Half-Life 2 Spoiler Thread

You can see him 2 times during the airboat part of the game. once when you're crusing through a canal and once when you're at the dam (right after the big helicopertfight) you can see him sneaking around a corner. You can also spot him talking to a group of rebels you will meet later when you look through a pair of binoculars the combine soldiers left behind when you brutally slaughtered them on your buggy ride towards that base.

  13. Flatout

There is a winter track which has normal tarmac roads aswell as snow and ice, and you instatly notice the diffirence between the surfaces That same level got a super cool corner in it, you got a long straight piece of ice-road and when you take it right you start to slide about 500 meters before the corner! I really miss a replay-save function, and multiple camera angles when I'm replaying the race :-/ .
  14. Happy Birthday, Spaff!

Happy birthday Spaffo!, enjoy the lan
  15. Half Life 2 First Impressions

I had the biggest grin on my face ever when I started to play for the first time And I have to agree, the waterboat scene was a tiny bit too long for me, but maybe that's cause I only had 4 hours to play and wanted to see more. And those helicopters are awesomely scary!
  16. I'm going to install Windows XP

Uninstall firefox, go to the documents and settings folder, then the all users folder, turn on show hidden files and folders, and delete every entry you see that points to mozilla firefox. Do this for every account you have on your machine. And finally reinstall firefox. This might help.
  17. Half Life 2 First Impressions

I think I feel a 'not being able to play halflife 2 while others can'-headache coming on, is that a good enough reason to tell my boss I want to go home early today?
  18. Barricades in CS: Source

I hereby damn all people that are free tomorrow and can play halflife 2, I damn you all to hell and back!
  19. Damn Steam

That's the major downside of using such a system as steam for game activation. in technical terms it's a single point of failure. The entire process hinges on one single system and if that isn't working your entire operation is dead in the water.
  20. Playstation 2 Exclusives

Oh and maybe gitaroo man. rez is a must have tho.
  21. Flatout

Bad move by empire interactive.. They should have waited till spring next year, Because the game would have been sooo mcuh better if it had gotten that extra few months for the final polish. This game is clearly rushed and is basically not finished. Shame on you empire interactive! Shame! on! you!
  22. BTG: The Final Hours of Half-Life 2

You don't need a big budget to set up a content delivery system like steam, just use (your own version of) the bittorrent network. Everything is already there for fast & cheap content delivery, the industry is just affraid to use it.
  23. Exclusive show report: GAMEXPO 2004

Game expo is part of a 3 day computer fair in the jaarbeurs hallen in Utrecht. It's the biggest computer fair in the Netherlands. It started out as the yearly meeting of a dutch computer club called HCC, (Haagse computer club, established in 1977) Which has members all over the country. Each part of the club would showcase what they have been up to the last year and next to that there was a fair where you could buy computer(parts) real cheap. It has grown out to be the biggest computer fair in the Netherlands, an average of 100.000 people in 3 days, with this game expo excuse tacked on. And the computer-fair isn't that cheap anymore either. So all in all, the HCC-days have become too big to be fun or usefull. dutch website about the HCC days
