Maybe using a torrent tracker system type of thing might be more usefull? (and friendlier to your server's bandwith to say the least) There are plenty of public trackers which you can (ab-)use for this purpose

One licensed game that's actually good? Tony hawk's pro skater. (any game from the series) Or if you really want it to be a licence from a movie I'd have to say that chronicles of riddick is rather nice. a very decent FPS. Granted, there isn't much innovation in licensed games but they're not all crap.
