They get a statisfied customer out of it who is more likely to return to the same shop and spend more money there. And maybe that customer tells his/her friends about the nice sales rep. at $shop$. Even more $$ for them! It's called word of mouth.

Try allien swarm, the game ekkri shows that rather big screenshot of. It's better executed and comes closer to allien breed or the chaos engine. Also it's free! (If you have unreal tournament 2004) I wonder how far they are porting it to the source engine...

What is it with everyone disliking steam? It's a free platform which offers a cheap way to distribute media and software. Yes, you do give away a bit of control over the games you own. (which isn't entirely true tho. You can make complete back-ups in several ways.) I know steam used to be a nasty resource hog. but it has come a long way since the first release. Please tell me why I shouldn't be using steam to buy/play my games?

And portugese people active here? If so: nice acting! Goodluck beating England...

What are your biggest gripes with the EULA of steam then, elmuerte? And why do you think it's not legally sound?

I rather liked the demo. I couldn't stop grinning when I first saw my own back in a portal. I even managed to snipe myself in the back! I'm not too sure if I like the whole 'I'm an indian in denial' angle tho. It is indeed a bit of cliche. But I'm sure I'll get the complete game when it's released. Speaking of being released. What is this triton thing they promote? It sounds a bit fishy. Anyone got any experience with that? Oh and I noticed the V-sync artifacts too. Turning on V-sync in the advanced options worked for me.

Wow. If this is what I can expect from episodic content by valve I'm gonna be one happy camper! I just finished episode one in just over 3 hours and it was one cool ride! They keep up the excelent level of quality you got with hl2. Add to that more on the story from the Halflife world and some new baddies to blast and you got a great new episode in the halflife universe. Too bad you don't get to know anything new about the G-man. But you do get to follow alyx around trying to escape from city 17. I can't wait till the next episode! They also added the directors commentary like they did in lost coast. So I'm gonna play again real soon just to listen to the commentary.

Why does everyone likes this game so much? I'm a pretty decent player (atleast, I like to think I am) But I totally suck at Sonic Rush. Somehow I can't get any further than the very first boss battle. This means I'm totally stuck with either Sonic or Blaze. I either drown with Sonic in the underwater level. Or get bummed in the gob by misjumping some important jump, loosing all my speed needed to make the jump in the first place and I can start all over again. In Zone 1. Which I just clearen with a lot of blood, sweat and tears. And what's with those spinner things? I can make sonic spin till his power meter is entirely empy. But the mysterious portals mentioned in the manual never open. What am I doing wrong? Can the Sonic fans please explain to me how to play? Cause I really want to enjoy my first sonic experience.
