  1. Double Shock

Well except for the fact that this one is getting rave reviews just about everywhere and that this one is actually going to sell well (I think). The PC version is pre-ordered here. I can't wait to dive into rapture

Oh man, I just discovered the funniest Tv show! Flight of the conchords! It's a musical comedy about three guys from new zealand. Who live in New York and play in a band. Well two of the guys play in the band and the thrid guy is their manager. It's hilarious stuff. Every episode they break out in song & dance at random moments. It's hilarious stuff. Here's a sample: And this one is from the HBO comedy special:
  3. Idle Thumbs Steam community

Why don't you have steam installed? It's got a great catalog of games and it's very useful for those impulse buys. (Like the entire iD catalog, or company of heroes for very little monies) And it's a nice way of having a chat. That too.

I saw Sunshine and Ocean's 13 yesterday. Ocean's 13 is getting a bit old. I mean the whole idea of a team of pro thiefs robbing a casino is fun and all. But after 3 times you know the drill, really. Still it's got a great cast but I somehow didn't get the same vibe like you had with the first one. A bunch of actors having a lot of fun and also make a nice movie in the process. Sunshine on the other hand was a really great sci-fi movie. I really liked the entire setting of the movie. Great acting, superb camera work. I really like the directing of Danny Boyle. I can understand that some people have trouble with the last part of the movie but I still liked it all very much. Fun fact: The science advisor of the movie also features in an awesome documentary about the why and how of the LHC they are building and fire up this year at CERN, Switzerland. This documentary is incredibly interesting and very much worth watching. Do so! Educate yourself!

Here you go, yufster: 5 5 When can I get my 10?
  14. Quake Zero: Free Browse-Quake 3

Apparently it just launches from the browser and will not actually run from within the browser. according to eurogamer.
  15. Rage: more quakecon news

Also keep in mind that nothing is set in stone yet. Nothing of what they've shown so far is final. They said that they haven't designed the main character yet. They still aren't sure if it's going to be a racing game with some FPS shooting bits or an FPS with some racing bits. All we've seen so far is the engine. Nothing of the actual game yet. Read more about Rage in this excellent preview on eurogamer
  16. Did you know...

Did you know that spaff is indeed devilishly handsome in real life, just as Yufster claims?
  17. Quake Zero: Free Browse-Quake 3

Yeah, it's a great idea. I also like it very much that they released their entire catalog on steam. And that you can buy it all for $62,95. I'm very temted to buy that mega pack...
  18. Back from Amsterdam!

Wait. What? Why were you in Amsterdam?
  19. YES! Doctor Who the video game!

As long as it's got Rose Tyler in it I'm sold! Doctor Who kicks ass! As long as we're clear on that.
  20. I demand an apology, America

For letting this happen: words fail me.
  21. The title says it all really, Test drive unlimited is a racing game unlike many out there. It's basically a sort of grand theft auto sans the car-jackings and wanton violence. Plus a healthy dose of online multiplayer goodness thrown in for good measure. Remember how you sometimes just wanted to cruise around Vice City/San Andreas/Liberty City but couldn't because before you knew it you got the entire army chasing you just because you took that one wrong turn and ran over that group of rival gang members, accidentally hit that cop car on your way out and blew up some other cars in the process? Well now you can. Test drive unlimited is a game set on a virtual one on one scale model of Oahu Hawaii. You get to explore the entire island at your own leisure using the latest and greatest the automotive industry has to offer today. There are plenty of challenges and missions dotted around the island for you to race around in. With those races you can win cash to buy new houses cars and motorbikes. With most of the missions you can earn clothing coupons you can spend in the various stores dotted around the island to buy new clothes. So you can play dress up with your driver. Because a Brown T-shirt does not look cool with that classy British racing green Jaguar XKR you happen to cruising around in. But the real unique selling point of this game is the MMO aspect of the game. As you drive around the island you can come across other players and by flashing you headlights at them you can engage them in a quick one on one race using the actual island map to set out a impromptu race. I haven't had the chance yet to try out the online part of the game yet but from what I read about it it should be pretty neat. There are some flaws in this game tho. The motorbikes feel rather tacked on and not really worked out as well as the cars. And despite having a pretty beefy PC I sometimes get some strange slowdowns and every now and then A nasty case of the pop-ups. Sometimes you're driving so fast that the oncoming traffic pops up rather late. But I still heartily recommend this game to all of Idle Thumbs!  out of 5 Now I'm of to cruise around in my $650.000 Ferrari Enzo. See you at Honolulu!
  22. Oahu! Fast Cars! Complete Freemdom!

Whenever I did those missions I immediately aborted the mission and restarted when I got so much as a tiny little scratch. There is no penalty for restarting, and when you get the car over in one piece the reward is so much more. You get a bonus which is totally worth the frustration of wiping out 25 meters from the finish. For the third time in a row. You can easily rack in the millions with those missions.

Not true actually. Bottle Rocket didn't have Bill Murray in it aswell.
  24. Develop: Brighton

About an hour by train. And a train ticket is about 25 quid according to the national rail site I checked yesterday.
