I just restarted the server. Can you connect now?
-
I just uploaded the renders of yesterday. Today's renders will follow soon. Also: We still got some work to do. This is a render of the shacknews minecraft server: http://box.nevernet.com/~djr/mc/angle.png

Minecarts don't work. Yet. I fully expect them to work pretty soon though. [edit] Don't know if it is because of the tracks or some unrelated bug. But shortly after placing tracks the game gets very laggy and the CPu usage goes through the roof. So placing tracks might not be exactly bugfree.

I did install a mod on the server which makes lava only flow over smooth stone to prevent lava grieving. This might hamper your lava works.

Sorry, dibs :/ I'm a day behind on the renders. Tomorrow I'll upload the renders of today & tomorrow. Also: We totally need to build something like this:
-
Took a bit longer than expected But I finally uploaded last night's render. I know that some shacknews people use some kind of annotate-able map website. I'll try to find the URL and make a version of our own.

Just got back from a weekend of rollercoasters and horseriding. Renders will be going up in a minute as soon as I have downloaded the latests map backup and rendered the maps.

Made some more renders. See http://minecraft.everyonelookbusy.net/ But this one came out real nice:

Nope slimeballs are useless for now. According to the wiki at least.
-

Here it is guys. Our very own world! There's also a map report there with the current amount of materials in the world: http://minecraft.everyonelookbusy.net/idlethumbs.world1.21-09-2010.1931.mapreport.txt

There's a new game coming out by valve called Alien Swarm. It's made by the guys who made the Alien swarm mod for ut2k4. Those guys are working for Valve now and they're releasing Alien swarm for free on steam in 3 days. It's got 4 player co-op and I was wondering if any of you guys are willing to get a co-op game going when it's released. More info on alien swarm here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/630/

Those green jawbreaker things are indeed loot from slime monsters. There's one in one of the screenshots I believe. You can grow reeds/ papyrus like you can grow cacti. Just place some at the waters edge and see it grow With papyrus you can make paper. which you can turn into books which you can turn into bookshelfs. [edit] And in case you guys don't check the multiplayer forums. we've got our own server now

Cartograph is a program that can render a map of your world. This program caused some problems on one of the shacknews servers. I won't be using this. I will be using oizomapper. A program by one of the shackers that is much better.

Alright people! We're in business! Server IP: 178.63.67.102:25565 I haven't configured it yet, so please be gentle!
-
This might take a bit longer than I hoped. I hope to have this thing up & running tomorrow evening.
-
Waiting for the server to start working...
-
Try this link? http://www.dropbox.com/gallery/8326218/1/minecraft?h=ad28a7 this one should work.
-
Alright. Ordering a server right now! More info as I get it!

I too am hopelessly addicted to minecraft. I've been mostly busy on one of the shack servers. But I've also been busy in singleplayer. http://www.dropbox.com/gallery/8326218/1minecraft?h=ad28a7 These screenshots are from my monster mine of doooom and it's far from finished. Since picks wear out a bit to fast, progress has been slow lately :/

You do realize gearbox is working on the game 3drealms wanted to release late 2009, right? Hence the same title.

I just saw gasland. A documentary about the gas winning in America. And how (predictably) the big companies are fucking up. I highly recommend watching this. It will make you go though.

The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

I've got a few things to share with you all 1) Underworld have a new single, called Scribble. It's a big departure from their previous work. I'm not entirely convinced I like the new direction they've taken. Give it a listen anyway. lMv6USMLWvg 2) Orbital released two new tracks. I rather like them myself. 7-191OuTbu0 qHjXyHlpmXs 3) I made another techno mix-set! (Previous ones here). If you like techno, please give it a listen and let me know what you think! http://soundcloud.com/ysbreker/kick-it-up-a-notch
