  1. WTF is Telltale's new game?

    Just Poker Night
  2. It might be interesting if worlds could have hostile and peaceful meta-biomes, so some areas would spawn creatures etc, but if you walked three miles or crossed a huge body of water, you'd find a safer realm. Maybe that would be retarded, but it might also not be.
  3. My vote would be for a gratuitously complex solution: Can we switch to survival mode, but... .... very occasionally ... ... play a retro week or weekend where we switch the server over to a backu of one of our two peaceful-building worlds?
  4. Man, someone's made an ambient occlusion mod as well. I like how that looks a lot. Edit: Someone on the minecraft forum took a screenshot of the game with that above linked texture pack, and the ambient occlusion mod. Definitely a different look, which I'll be trying out tonight!
  5. CONGRATS STEVE!/FUCK STEVE!

I MOVE TO SAN FRANCISCO FINALLY AND ALL MY FRIENDS LEAVE WHYYY congrats steve / fuck steve
  6. WTF is Telltale's new game?

One day Poker Night will ship, and then I'll ship that goddamn video.
  7. Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse

Sorry by series I meant season. Worst.
  8. I'm listening every time... just not posting
  9. Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse

Probably over-thinking it, but who knows. If another Max had just walked up, I think it would have been even more mind-boggling to people than it already was when he came out of a time machine. When a previously-presumed-dead character comes out of a crazy hissing glowey sci-fi door, there is some implied "oh whatever" handwaving that you don't get when they just walk up on the street. Admittedly with Sam & Max it's probably not much of an issue either way. I think the implication is that it's in a different timeline, though, if you want to get down to it. We don't particularly know where Season One Sam & Max went after they stole the time machine from Season Two Sam & Max in Chariots of the Dogs, but also I hope people don't particularly care other than "somewhere else on their own crazy adventure." I can't help but admit that I was really pleased with that ending. I think it's a little too cheesy for Sam & Max, but the comics aren't afraid of a few seconds of genuine emotion here and there (especially when its about the safety of either Sam or Max), and they're also not afraid of a completely unfair, ridiculously hand-waved deus ex machina to get Sam & Max out of the tightest spots, so being able to combine both of those into the last beat of the season made me a happy person. I don't know if we actually earned anything in that ending with what came before but it was fun to make, and to finally get a moment like that into the series, even if its at the very end.
  10. I've finally started building things. Boring tower on the outcropping of the winter wonderland is mine. One day I'll make it actually interesting, but for now i'm trying to get my feet wet.
  11. WTF is Telltale's new game?

We'd need an actual interactive music system for that to be a possibility. Wah wah. But it would be cool! The original design for episode 3 of The Devil's Playhouse was completely different from what ended up shipping, and may or may not have been a molemen vs rat society West Side Story episode.
  12. Happy Birthday!

    Thanks you guys!
  13. WTF is Telltale's new game?

About Mann Co was Valve. The Citizen Kane of Poker games was Vanaman. So hey.
  14. Haha I clicked that off the front page and couldn't figure out what the ambience was. Great stuff.
  15. 3x seemed enough to my feeble newb mind, but if you want to double that and go 6x the size of the original sign, please demolish mine and make a Congrats Nick that is visible from space.
  16. Sorry for fronting on your sign with a 3x version. I felt the new server needed something more grandiose (and more annoying to attempt to vandalize or demolish*). * not that that will stop people.
  17. http://threemovesahead.libsyn.com/episode-85-betrayal-and-manipulation Julian and Rob are joined by Rob Daviau (Hasbro) and Chris Remo (Irrational) to talk about how games let us give in to our worst impulses and betray our friends. Neptune's Pride, Risk, Weinhandler, Starcraft and a dozen other games come up.
  18. Minecraft

Haha I came to this thread to post that video as well. Makes me wish that rapid transit like that was allowed in the game. It would be fun to connect two communities half a continent apart via a 1 minute blast through miles and miles of countryside (and statuary, Congrats Nick signs etc).
  19. minecraft server new world?

    Idle Thumbs (Doug ("tabacco") (he hosts the idle thumbs webserver)(()));
  20. minecraft server new world?

If/when we start over, we can throw up a dedicated server for it if you guys want.
