That's a reference to a weird "boxed copy" of GOG.com that Chris had sitting next to where we used to record (presumably sent to press as a promotion for the launch of the service -- so wry! Sending a game box for a service intended to end boxed games! Oh that GOG!). Its platform listed on the box was "PC DL ;-)" including the horrible winky face.

We were in the same room when designing the very redesign this thread is discussing.

Yep accessibility. Some people seem to only get content from sites like YouTube. It also means people can link straight to specific bits if they want.

That guy was awesomely starting it on his YouTube account, so we gave him a login to the official account to start posting them there. No clue how many he'll do, but I'm thankful for the one we have!

truth. self-burn. (I actually love playing video games a lot... its just hard for me to come home from work and look at more video games. I'm an IGF judge this year though and that is super amazing. Being able to check out all those indie games at once... so good...)

I thought the same thing! "Only on the Idle Forums am I going to find some dude still insisting on 4:3." Or not! 16:10 is traditionally preferred because you can get a 16:9 image on screen and still have room for playback controllers or an editing toolbar. I like it for games because it's just a little less wide.
