  1. Re: the coin toss being automatic, I'd read that as the game wanting to tell you that Booker is his own person, he's not 100% you, but who knows. I'm not quite done with the game yet either.
  2. Gone Home from The Fullbright Company

    #twitterchillers: Gone Home Edition
  3. Gone Home from The Fullbright Company

... but your own. GONE HOME COMING SOON
  4. Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon

Same. This has me way more interested in actually doing something in FC3 at least.
  5. "Unfair" is a weird word given that we were up front with how far into the game we were. I think it's reasonable for people to have expressible opinions 2-5 hours into a piece of work. That's a lot of life to spend on something. We were also pretty clear that we'll be talking about it more after we finish. I am not finding BioShock Infinite patronizing, but I'm also having trouble finding meaning in it. I'm curious as to whether that changes by the end so I'm going to play the hell out of it in the next couple nights.
  6. Casting Tobey Macguire as Carraway seems like such a misread of that character and the book that I don't know what point there is. The imagery will be crazy at least, feeling larger than life and remembered through a dream or something... except its the dream of Tobey Macguire, the Nick Carraway of people who think Nick Carraway is a fly on the wall empty vessel of a character. Full Disclosure: The language used in this post may imply that I care about the Great Gatsby movie, but if so that is a mistaken impression.
  7. Clint Hocking wrote similarly about the shield mechanic for Edge - http://edge-online.com/features/from-doom-to-dishonored-considering-the-firstperson-shooters-various-waveforms/
  8. It was moody and oppressive and often creepy and frequently totally tense, which is collectively a subgenre of horror I think, even if its not main-line "Horror" horror.
  9. It's cheesy but the setting of post-fall Rapture really works better for me for combat being your only recourse. Youre in a scary dripping dark space full of drugged out murderers. Bio 1 and 2 made me wish for a BioShock game in a vibrant society, but that immediately reveals how insane all the face-shooting is. Are there really 600 able bodied police officers in Columbia, all of whom are willing to run at you and die? It turns out by saying "I'd love a BioShock game in a pre-fall society," I actually meant "I'd love a BioShock where I didn't have to murder everyone all the time," and now that I am playing something half way in between I'd rather just have one or the other.
  10. Christ I need to play it a third time. What in the world.
  11. I'm so confused. I played it twice on PC and don't remember picking.
  12. Probably wise. Depends on how you feel about spoilers of the first few hours of a BioShock game, because that's most of what we talk about!
  13. Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon

I remember seeing things about this before April 1, so if it's an april fools joke it's a poorly managed one. Odds are (thankfully) it's real.
  14. Idle Thumbs 99: "I'm Blown Away" In this knock down drag out episode, we get in each other's face over competition and learning in Dota, and dive deep enough into SimCity that we kind of run out. Odds are high that you'll be blown away. Games Discussed: Dota 2, SimCity, Occulus Rift Listen on the Episode Page Listen in iTunes Subscribe to the RSS Feed
  15. Idle Thumbs 98: Happy Dishonored Return of Nick Breckon Out with the old and in with the old! Say goodbye to Dishonored jokes and say hello to the past. With citizen demand for current hosts dwindling, you better zone some residential because a hip new family is moving back to Cool Town. Games Discussed: SimCity, Anno 1404: Venice, Zafehouse Diaries, Indiana Jones and His Desktop Adventures, Castle Doctrine, Gorillas.bas, SimCity 2000 Listen on the Episode Page Listen in iTunes Subscribe to the RSS Feed

  17. And the ball keeps bouncing...

I don't think turning that PM discussion into a forum thread is appropriate. As for the rest of this: ThunderPeel, you are undeniably the center of the majority of dust-ups on this forum. Maybe it's not every other person here's fault. Closing this. You can take it to PM if you'd like.
  18. Broken Age - Double Fine Adventure!

Was the site launch livestreamed or something? People are talking about watching Chris...
  19. The Walking Dead Season 2: Zalking Dead

I think the Telltale WD Facebook page is already filling up with confused people.
  20. Yeah, this. The cost of just walking into the wrong place for 10 seconds is so high that people are going to intrinsically be on edge. It demands a unified level of play across an entire team/server that is uncommon. I think it's really cool that gaming has that in LOMAs, as it is really unique. It's just hard on my personality. I like high level competitive play a lot, but I usually need a formalized learning curve (which I know is coming) or a big group of friends (which I have and am willingly ignoring like a cool) to get there.Maybe Dota needs formalized Little League. Not just ranked servers, which is common, but specifically set up loa rank servers for people who are there to have fun and learn while competing, with coaches, high level players who willingly sign up to play on lower ranked servers and be identified out on your team via unique ui specifically to teach. Maybe that would be the worst? Maybe someone's already tried that?
  21. Anyone Remember?

That may be the second chair broken.
  22. Video games!. Idle Thumbs 84: Nineties Cockpit Freakout You've been through this mess before, your view-cone ever narrowing, but you like the challenge. Then, it all goes wide. Silence. You drift free, frozen; the infinite vastness of space envelops you, strangles you. You feel upholstery. Twin petals at your feet. The glass comes down, securing the seal as displays tink and blip to life, shielding the endless blackness from sight. You grip your SideWinder and you are home. Games Discussed: Grand Theft Auto V, Halo 4, Halo: ODST, Hotline Miami, Mark of the Ninja, Star Citizen, Super Meat Boy Galaxy, Dark Souls Direct episode download. iTunes page. Feed RSS.
