  1. Idle Thumbs 203: Goat Impossible This week, one of us is a murderer... But who? Is it Chris, who spent the week maximizing the traffic flow in his Cities: Skyline city, a city so perfect no one wanted to live there? Or could the murderer be Danielle, the one who spent the week actually murdering a bunch of people -- fictionally -- in Bloodborne? It was probably Jake, who spent the week without internet, but everyone at the cable company seems alive and well. A case this complicated will take at least six Jessica Fletchers to solve, and for that we have just the thing. Things Discussed: Bloodborne, Cities: Skylines, Dyscourse, Zafehouse Diaries, Murder, She Wrote: A Game of Strategy and Pursuit Listen on the Episode Page Listen on Soundcloud Listen in iTunes Subscribe to the RSS Feed
  2. Already sold out again! Woof
  3. Only Sean and I played Two Rooms and a Boom. Twist!
  4. Spy Party is also accurate.
  5. The penny character design is also bad looking.
  6. Quoting this because I agree completely, on all counts, and also so that "notorious weedlord" shows up on the page another time.
  7. Correct. What can you do though?
  8. I have it as of this morning! Book deals dashed.
  9. Hahaha oh man okay. Fart fart fart. Buffy is all kind of bad after season 3, as far as the big picture goes. Lots of good small stuff but wooof forever. Anyway can't wait for Twin Peaks 2016 and X-Files 6 episode mini-series. What a weird time for TV.
  10. Yeah we're in a totally shitty Buffy Big Bad era right now. Is season 6 Ben and Glory? Woof.
  11. Hey all, the episode is up! And so is the pre-discussion thread for next week's!
  12. This is a bleak episode of the show. Man.
  13. Idle Thumbs 192: The New Blindfolded Fool You've delved too deep below the sea, to a time before human memory. A voice from your past won't stop echoing in your head, telling you lies, telling you about space, telling you things you've heard so many times before. Games Discussed: Subnautica (Early Access), Fibbage, The Outer Wilds Listen on the Episode Page Listen on Soundcloud Listen in iTunes Subscribe to the RSS Feed Here is the ThumbsDB. It is the best.
  14. "Blobbo and Snood: Back In Action"
  15. Oops I could have sworn that was you. Maybe I fully imagined it existing at all... If it was anywhere it was in the episode thread for the episode when Briggs shows Cooper the printout, or the episode immediately following it.
  16. Yeah just referencing the aesthetic. Not the killer or resolution.I think that we're maybe two episodes from when I dropped Twin Peaks on my first viewing. That will be interesting.
  17. So goofy. I totally didn't hear it.
  18. The episode is up! enjoy. Episode 22 thread also exists now. Oops hahaha on the front page of idlethumbs.net I say "everybody's wearing weird sweaters," but just realized I didn't even mention that on the episode. Both Catherine and the mountie who is in cahoots with Jean Renault have the most RIDICULOUS huge sweaters on this week. That is all.
  19. Nintendo announces mobile deal with DeNA

This day and age, Nintendo will not let low quality games come out for ANY platform regardless of who is developing them. There's just no way they go hands off and let someone else put out shitty titles using their characters and names, on other platforms. At this point if a Nintendo-branded game is bad, it's not because Nintendo didn't care enough or didn't pay close enough attention. These aren't the CD-i or Mario Teaches Typing days. This seems like Nintendo admitting that they are terrible at online software infrastructure (which they are!) so they're partnering with a company that, in Japan at least, is better at it than they are.
  20. Ori and the Blind Forest

The font choice makes it feel like the game was localized from another language with a different character set. Like it was a Nintendo release in Japan first or something. Not a positive. Fortunately the game is really really pretty otherwise.
  21. Ides... Rolling With the Pope In video games, you can trust no one. Everyone is in on it, everyone but you. In video games nothing is real. Or, if it is, we're pretty sure you're seeing it via the visions of a comatose police officer, through the projection of genetic memories hurtled into your brain through time at tremendous speed, or in the dreams of a sleeping cartoon dog. With special guest Sean Vanaman. Games Discussed: Assassin's Creed 2, Prince of Persia: Forgotten Sands, Portal 2, Snoopy's Flying Ace, Driver San Francisco, Alpha Protocol, Crackdown 2
  22. Twin Peaks Discussion

I've heard it proposed that this "snag" is a negotiating tactic to keep acting contracts negotiated as cheaply as possible, like in the middle of the Simpsons' popularity, Fox announced they were considering a 100% recast of the voice talent and started taking auditions, to get the notoriously well-paid talent to simmer down. I'm sure the Simpsons is multiples more high profile and cost than this, but "now fellas it might not happen because contract negotiation," seems like it could be a tactic as much as anything else. Whatever the reason, I agree with lostinthemovies that it's very likely we get SOMETHING out of the project, or else the explosion will be petty notable for all parties involved.
