  1. Is GameSpot Complete worth it?

    power of ... shit!
  2. SW: KotOR -- HK-47

The desktop adventures were stupid, but they were a good quick distraction when at work. They're kind of lame versions of what Jane Jensen's doing now - adventure games boiled down to a couple ridiculously short tile based puzzles which you can complete while dodging work in the office.
  3. No offense, but I'm almost tempted to close this thread This discussion has been done to death elsewhere (by many or most of the same people). That said... the second one ¬
  4. Psychonauts

That could (and should) easily be shortened to "He should [...] make us some glorious new games!!!" I don't want a Throttle or Grim 2, even if it is by Schafer. As he said back in 2001, "If we'd done a Monkey 3 there'd be no DOTT, if we did a DOTT 2 there'd be no Full Throttle, if we did a Throttle 2 there'd be no Grim Fandango." So yeah... leave sequels to others or not at all, unless you really want to.
  5. GTA: San Andreas (Screenshots)

Its not a fake. The fact that the fans and developers were coming up with the same things should always be worrying actually (let Guybrush get married). That said, the improvements in San Andreas all sound good (though I'm a little wary of the eating). I hope they have mounted police in the downtown San Francisco areas. I'd love to steal a horse and ride it around for no reason.
  6. GTA clones - any good?

Its weird that people think things like an entire game announcement could be a rapid response to a game cancellation. Mercenaries popped up mere weeks (days?) after Sam & Max 2 got killed, with full screenshots, gameplay descriptions, concept art, etc, and the "Free Agent" rumors had been floating around long before Sam & Max got the axe. (Free Agent was the codename for Mercenaries)
  7. Is this man very frantically gaming with an old Atari 2600-style joystick, or is he obsessively fiddling with a poo-pile nearly the size of his head? Discuss.
  8. OK, WTF?! Andy Kaufmann is back!

As pointed out by someone in a comment in his (alleged) blog, anyone can slap a press release up on that site (not Yahoo News, but the PR wire that the press release is sourced from).
  9. http://money.cnn.com/2004/05/11/technology/e3_nekkidgames/index.htm Etc etc. I mainly posted this for the LSL picture.
  10. What's next for the GTA series?

The problem with that is that MMO = the opposite of cinematic, at least in my imagination. Maybe its doable somehow but I can't see a remotely cinematic feeling multiplayer experience happening, at least not on the PS2.
  11. Quote of the Moment - Doug Lowenstein

Ah maybe he was talking about that. Argh what was he talking about he's so wrong. Why does this bother me? Because I'm trying to create content for the forum? Erm, Because this is the Internet? I dunno. Its foolish. The exact same type of person who bitches that Rogue Squadron and Rogue Leader are identical rehashes would be the kind complaining about how Ricky Martin songs are all sound-a-likes. Wheras the person who buys lots of Ricky Martin (or other cookie cuttery thing) without complaining might also be inclined to buy both Rogue Squadron GC games, or Maddens 1999-2005, or see Shanghai Knights and be entertained. I guess what I mean is, he has no argument.
  12. Is anyone else bothered by the fact that the Nightmare Before Christmas game only takes place in Halloween Town and Christmas Town? I mean Jesus, the film opens with the ring of trees which one can only assume go to towns/worlds for all major (US-celebrated) holidays... why when you're given the license to make a game do you only recreate the two from the film? So weak.
  13. Toe Jam & Earl

He did character design of a lot of the bad guys. The shopping lady with the beehive hair and the crazed dentist with the drill are both clearly born from the mind of Purcell. If you have the original game, look through the instruction book for his original concept art of the baddies.
  14. http://www.doublefine.com/news.htm Bastard.
  15. Dreamfall blows

Dear thread, I hate you. Love, Jake
  16. http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com/dvd.cfm?itemid=WBD031840 Oh man. Discuss.
  17. GTA: San Andreas (Screenshots)

They could afford the ensuing lawsuit. Is ensuing a real word, Sam?
  18. GTA: San Andreas (Screenshots)

Yeah, see: every screenshot ever generated for magazines that doesn't look like crap.
  19. ... you really have no choice but to film a 5 minute, really lame, horror movie in the middle of the night and then show up an hour late for work on Monday. I don't know how we were so lucky but somehow my friend ended up owning some land with a half rotted out box car sitting in the middle of the woods. Good times. Hopefully a couple of screen grabs will be forthcoming for no reason.
  20. Beyond Good & Evil

They seem to be pretty generous with little caves and pits you can duck into to avoid the crazy death-grid kill-o-bots which come after you to clear the area I thought. Though I'm not done with the game I've rarely been killed after getting caught, though I agree that the stealth is a little cheezily done. Both Beyond Good and Evil and Armed and Dangerous desparately need sequels so the developers can really deliver polished genuine versions of their original concept. Both those games had so much going for them, but you felt like they only met you half way in the end.
  21. Beyond Good & Evil

Rayman 8. Speaking of Anachronox, the screenshots of the snowswept town in TLJ Dreamfall remind me of Anachronox: Version That Doesnt Look Bad.
  22. I agree! When playing Flashback I felt a lot more like I was playing a game which happened to have some cool cinematics versus OOTW, which seemed like a very long, awesome, interactive cutscene. Fortunately both of those games are good so theres no need to complain really. Fortunately nobody is.
  23. This Transformers game

I think he's lying and youve bought into it. He does have a very nice suit that he wore to work once. A regular one, with a suit jacket. Not an Optimus Prime suit.
  24. The Boy and his Blob

Created by David Crane, designer of Pitfall. Woo factoids!
