  1. Take me on the last express

Thta is weird. Why not just let you pay a billion dollars in shipping.
  2. Take me on the last express

I ordered a copy from cdaccess recently and it just arrived a couple days ago. I've done very little so far (aside from accidentally call the train attendant after closing myself in the room with the dead body ... good work me) but I am super impressed with it. Also the CDAccess copy comes in a full size box with really nice multi-cd full color cardboard fold out sleeve. It's not a super budget jewel or shrinkwrap-manual-OEM release. Worth buying.
  3. Holiday cash=Console for me.

Four Sword Adventures is great fun, but suffers pretty heavily if you don't have 4 players, as no matter how many people you have playing the game requires there be 4 Links on screen, meaning if there are two players, each person has a tag-along Link which follows them around that they occasionally need to take control of to make him stand on a switch or whatever. Or if there are three players one is at a disadvantage as they have to occasionally deal with their second Link character while the other two only really have to worry about themself. Etc. If you have 4 people playing it's an awesome game though. Still fun with less, but the frustration is higher.
  4. The Sims and Girls

Heh that sounds like my only guy friend who likes (liked, really, as this was a couple years ago) the Sims. He didn't bother with the main game after the first few minutes- he just entered the "give lots of money" cheat a lot of times and started working to construct the most extreme mansion possible. He managed to get it to let him have an indoor gymnasium and stuff, it was pretty cool. He's an architecture student most of the time, so I guess that was the part that was the appealing toy to him. It was kind of awesome, funny, etc. I think he also tried to make the female into a lesbian.
  5. The Year 2005

    hhahhahaahaha ... ahhahahahahahhahaahahahha
  6. Your avatars are being held hostage...

He wants tnose smileys to go back to their old thinly-veiled-but-veiled-nontheless selves, instead of their new overt text-based form.
  7. Your avatars are being held hostage...

    I don't get i-- ohhh. You bastard.
  8. Did santa bring gaming goodness?

When did I claim otherwise? And that said, far more retarded living rooms are had by non-bachelors, if you pay attention.
  9. Did santa bring gaming goodness?

I got a TV and media shelf thingeys, causing my living room to become scary (and ruined by flash photography). Fortunately now that plama screen TVs, LCD whatevers, and flat screen CRTs and stuff exist, regular old slightly bubble shaped CRTs are available for not very much money, in enormous sizes.
  10. This is probably familiar to anyone who reads Boing Boing, but if you're looking for some Holiday Cheerse, look no further than the horn stylings of The Border Brass, on their holiday album Tijuana Christmas in MP3 form. Annoy family members, pretend your office is a grocery store from the early 60s, and more. Etc etc. Fortunately for everyone, Christmas has been plagued with this kind of crap over the last 50 years. If anyone else has similar things please share them.
  11. HL2: Stuttering fixed (supposedly)

Mine stutters frequently, but I solve that by turning the texture and/or model quality down a notch. It stutters because my computer isn't awesome enough (and I probably don't have enough RAM). Hopefully people aren't just expecting HL2 to run without occasional chunking on their not-brand-new computers now that there is a patch? ¬
  12. Minna Daisuki Katamari Damacy

If anyone is interested in the "developer diaries" (not really) journal things by the games creator that appear on the japanese Katamari 2 site, a Shacker has offered a translation of all 11 entries.
  13. EA and MS: Which company is more evil?

Oh I know they did Kyrandia, but I couldn't remember if the final game came out pre or post EA, but I'm almost entirely sure it was pre.
  14. EA and MS: Which company is more evil?

Westwood did all the Kyrandia games long before EA as well didn't they?
  15. EA and MS: Which company is more evil?

There were two sidescrollers (one where you play as Link and one where you play as Zelda, I believe). Back when I read IGN they did a really nice multi-part feature on every Zelda title ever and included a ton of stuff on these shit CD-I titles. But I've forgotten it all now, that was a few years ago. Wow how helpful am I? Sorry.
  16. Namco DOES think Europe smells!

Wouldnt they also have to make a PAL version? Or is that irrellevant these days? PS at least you're getting the sequel.
  17. C&C Music

    I'm a mechanical I'm a mechanical I'm a mechanical man.
  18. Gamespot's Best/Worst of 2004

    You've won this round.
  19. It has been confirmed. EA is the Devil.

Why didnt I notice this thread before I posted news? Oh well
  20. Gamespot's Best/Worst of 2004

No such thing as bad publicity.
  21. Maniac Mansion

They used the shit version so it would take up next to no space on a floppy disk, and also probably so it could fit in RAM along with DOTT on the PC's of the age. Size constraints of some sort were, I'm sure, why they used that version. That and it's more amusing to see it look so shitty compared to DOTT. The visual difference is far more striking than if they'd used the enhanced edition of MM.
  22. Scrapyard HL2 Mod

Just the Lord of lords, Psychonauts. Geez. How can you omit unproven, unbridled, infinite potential? And also Façade.
