I wouldn't kill for it, but one of these in M or L instead of XL would make me very happy.

I generally hate fighters and am shit at them so I'll probably be sticking with Soul Calibur only, which is one of the few I do enjoy (along with SF2 and MK2 .. I know, not a very creative list of fighting games but fuck off )

I used to play a lot of Rush 2049 with an old roomate. It is pretty enjoyable, thanks to the fact that the cars can randomly sprout wings and gyrate wildly about in abandonned stunt-track warehouses.

Dirk's supposed to be a bit on the heavy side, or at least not look terribly attractive. I've always hoped that if they do a Dirk movie they don't cast a celebrity as Dirk. My biggest fear is John Cleese. It seems like the sort of casting a movie studio would insist on.

As for a cinematic Dirk, I think this guy would fit the bill pretty well... assuming he maybe got a bit pudgier and had a real brilliant sense of comic timing (no clue if he does). He looks Dirk Gentlyish to me though.

Not just "from my religion teaching me that it's a good idea," for sure. Nevermind man. I see your point, but I'm realizing that it's not quite what I was talking about and also that I am/was wandering more off topic than I intended to with that last post.

Considering the number of people I know my age who have an American brand car (maybe one?), I suspect that most Americans on our forums know this, or at least prefer foreign cars of some sort, in general.

I more or less agree with Yufster on this one. The religious aspects of my upbringing did probably contribute to my moral compass, or whatever, but at this point I don't act on it because my religion told me to, but instead because I think it's a good idea.

"Creative man gets funding to make more games." What a huge bummer!!!

Games everyone hates (but are really great!)

I didn't really like Mario64 much but I did like Mario Sunshine quite a bit. So I guess that sentence would qualify for both threads -

I thought Mario Sunshine was way better than Mario 64 in almost every way... does that count? I really can't think of that many generally-considered-bad games that I really liked and sank my life into. -
Is the first image in this post broken for anyone else?

Hear Ye, Hear ye. I Bring you my Idle Thumbs Video

You can never tell with Kingz. Maybe he was just trying to be helpful. Or maybe he hates it and also hates you personally. It's a little game he likes to play. -
So what you're saying is, you hate video games.

http://home.gotland.com/wisby/internettrailer.avi here's a very poorly encoded version of yet another trailer that's shown up. this is the one i saw last week and is largely better than that other one, as far as movie trailers go at least...

You want us to go up to people, shit on their face in public, and ask if they like it? I guess I could see that happening if it was the super rare occasion that we actually managed to get to ask questions for a person responsible for that game existing. I don't think Thumbs has any place going up and completely raping some random in-house QA guy, for instance, who happened to get E3 show floor duty for a shitty game.

what can you do really?

Trip Hawkins:EA Founder prediction - Nintendo will be acquired by MS
Jake replied to SoccerDude28's topic in Video Gaming
What? How is it not just "another feather in their cap" for Sony, then, who is also a huge record label, film production company, creator of the Walkman/Discman, purveyor of televisions and PC's, etc? I'd much rather see Nintendo and MS pair up to confront Sony in the circle of console gaming than any other pairing, especially one with the goal to take out Microsoft. They're not the best company around, but the Xbox has been a nice system, in my mind, all things considered. MS might play dirty in general, but I suspect (a completely uneducated guess) that in the console business Sony plays dirtier. -

It could be that the Cube deliberately has less functionality. Nintendo has, at least as far as I remember, always been offering the Cube for around $50 less than the other systems. They don't include a DVD player. I'm not saying it was a good move on their part (in fact I think it was arrogant and pretty dumb, really), but that's what they did and that's why they've been justifying the cheaper price point since the day it came out. Unless I'm totally mistaken, which is highly possible It's just what I remember. -
Well yes, though that may have been partly responsible for me failing out of school after that ¬ Though I was well on my way at that point.

I played the xbox demo a bit yesterday night, and while its fun, it's not as amazing as I'd maybe led it to be by Penny Arcade edit: errrmm... i meant to write "it's not as amazing as I'd maybe been led to think it might be by Penny Arcade :)"

I've only read Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and a couple other shorter things that I forget the titles of, but even though I think we fail more than we succeed, or forget about it altogether sometimes, the sprirt of gonzo journalism is at least a little bit alive in the Thumb, and I hope it increases.
