"Mario anybody" what? Non-spinoff Mario games come out once in a blue moon, and are highly anticipated because of it. Same with all the big Nintendo franchises.

I wonder if the Walk of Game will ever be taken seriously? I like that even though it's in a Sony marketing focal point (including "The Playstation Store"), they award spots on the Walk to Miyamoto and the like.

I think the Sims addons are more EA's doing than Wrights. I mean he might contribute to them or approve them or whatever, or even like what each individual one does from a conceptual standpoint, but it seems like he's been working on the Spore, at least in the background, more or less since The Sims came out.

Will Wright is a really clever guy. The fact that a billion hojillion people like the Sims is obviously not definitive proof of anything, but erm, yeah. He's clever, and likes experimenting with games. I doubt he expected the Sims to be as popular as it is. It was a project he had to fight with EA to even get funded. Anyway I don't know enough about Will Wright to answer Sean's question, but I have a huge amount of respect for that guy and interest in his projects, even though the Sims bored me after a very short while.

Did you buy your copy at a store or download via Steam? If you're getting it through Steam you need to make sure HL2 is 100% fully downloaded onto your drive. Steam works by sending the game to your computer as you need it - it downloads in the background as you play - but obviously that can't happen if you're offline, so they need to make sure you have the whole game before attempting it to play it offline. Don't want you running into a missing level or something.

So I am now the proud owner of a used, but functional Dreamcast. Having never owned a DC before, I only have a vague notion of what games to get. I mainly got it because of past experiences playing Samba De Amigo and Chu Chu Rocket, and word of mouth that I should get Space Channel 5, all of which I am in the process of acquiring (legally, thanks to generally dirt cheap DC games on ebay and half.com). So, aside from those games, what do you guys recommend I pick up?

I think for little kids (the intended audience), School of Rock is a pretty good movie. It's sappy and goofy, but not terrible. The MPAA gave it a PG-13 for some stupid reason though, I'm sure to the frustration of the people who made it... But anyway, I don't like a lot of Linklater's films but the fact that he's made Dazed and Confused, Before Sunrise/Sunset, Waking Life, School of Rock, and now A Scanner Darkly... I at least have a lot of respect for him for clearly getting himself in the position to make whatever movie he'd like. Also, I think people who think Lynch is a pretentious man who makes worthless films is probably getting him confused with his fans. I get the feeling that there are a lot of misguided fans out there who really want his films to be that, but it really seems like he just likes making movies. His stuff sometimes falls apart a bit too much, but usually his movies are really tight/cohesive in their own way, he gets great performances out of his actors, and his cinematography is always at least genuinely interesting and stimulating, if not always "good looking." I don't think David Lynch has some large pretentious aim, he's not out to piss on Hollywood or represent for all the misunderstood artists in the world or something. To be honest I suspect he thinks that most of the stuff he makes is funny, I mean, in a very serious way. Dunno. I can't hate on David Lynch. I'm not going to piss on you about how he's some dark postmodern ironic mastermind like some people might (I guess?), because I don't think that, and I really doubt he does either, but I think he has made some really good movies.

Actually even if you did, you wouldn't get the pen because I think a small box of my LucasArts collectible stuff is missing, or buried in my old bedroom closet at my parents house. Can't find that pen, my Grim soundtrack, and some other stuff. argh looking through the box there is a lot of stuff missing... :grumble:

I've got a modded Xbox which is used for any emulation and mystery media needs, so no need to use the DC for that BUt thanks for the recommendation.

Tony Hawk 1, and Soul Calibur actually came with the console (woot) so that's good. As well as Skies of Arcadia (which I'm not a big fan of), and (woot) NBA 2K1 and World Series Baseball 2K2!!!
