good old note: genuine spoiler

It's from one of the memory vaults in the game. You can unlock little stories from people's memories, but they're told in the form of little illustrated Scott Campbell comics.

I made that animated gif in 1997. Weird that it's still around on the internet...

Hehe Drawing you in.

http://homestarrunner.com/stinkogame/stinkogame.html I know people have mixed feelings about the Homestar stuff (as in, some people think it's funny, some people think it's utterly retarded, and some people think it's both), but it's hard to complain about their games. Sometime in the recent past they put up a Mega Man parody based around Stinkoman (the "anime version" of Strong Bad from the "what would you be like as an japanese cartoon?" email episode), and it's pretty funny, and good also. Also worth investigating if you haven't is Peasant's Quest, a take of on Sierra style adventure games. You've probably seen that one (and the Stinkoman game too) but whatever. Enjoyment all around. Also, secret collect.

Don't mind me.

Yes fuck their sophomoric efforts. Rodi, a capella video game critic has spoken.

It's probably Flash slowdown more than Internet slowdown... so it's probably your computer (which needs to be retardedly fast to run complex Flash games at any reasonable rate) Unless you're talking about some sort of streaming issues, which would be kind of weird?

I like the stuff on the homestar site a lot myself, but I know that there are a lot of people who don't. That's the only reason I put that disclaimer in my post.

Give them a year or two for the platinum edition.

That's "The Lost Coast," which is a different thing.

I can't speak for the readers, but many of the staff here are pretty optimistic in the general sense - it's just game to game that we get all bitter. If we just hated games we wouldn't bother having this site - a site whose whole purpose is to let us have fun writing about games. Anyway as for Dmitri, considering absolutely 0 is known about it except for Molyneux's one excite-o-pitch sentence, I think it's a bit insane to even half-jokingly predict its success or failure. To all-jokingly predict it, sure maybe

She still has alien head but if they made it too realistic she would probably become off-puttingly mask-like

Yeah, nice. Can't say no to the one-two punch of a 9.5 review and a playable demo in the same issue.

"On the Spot," Psychonauts on "On the Spot," and other gamer TV
Jake replied to Moosferatu's topic in Video Gaming
I guess another problem here is that I don't mind that the damn thing is entirely off the cuff. If it gets streamlined too far it will be absolutely a wash. Do you really want On the Spot to turn into a Letterman type thing, where every question and answer in the interview segments is prepared in advance? That is basically what you're asking for. I wouldnt mind a few less mistakes and awkward moments, and maybe better lighting and camerawork, but on the whole I don't know if I want to ask for more than that. Also, in regards to the questions being prepared ahead of time... they can't do that. The whole point of the show is that viewers send in questions while it airs. It's a call-in entertainment talk show, except online. -

I agree with soccerdude (... from page 1. how did i suddenly miss page 2 even though i'd already read it? sigh). Compared to what else is out there, On the Spot isn't too terrible. I think they could use a lot of constructive criticism, and I think their production quality will go up and up with time, but you guys aren't really offering any constructive criticism, and are instead sayign that the show made you barf, scarred your eyes, or actively insulted you through your computer monitor. Also I split this discussion out from the Psychonauts thread, because it's not really about that anymore -

Trep I think you should spend less time trying to be scandalized and further insulted by his post and more time considering what he's actually saying. -

Considering how it rates against other televised entertainment programs (like Extra, Access Hollywood, etc), I don't really think On The Spot is that bad. It's not a news program, it's an entertainment program. A video magazine. It has low production values and the host isn't mind numbingly awesome, but it's not that bad. At least it's somewhat genuine, unlike the made-up mannequins they have posing as gamers on G4. I suspect On The Spot and other similar programs will get better with time too. That show is, what, less than a year old? -
Nice! Good to see they're finally making that game more realistic! It was too fun before.

You have channeled the true spirit of New Games Journalism in this review bc9b. When reading your writeup I feel like I'm actually there myself, browsing the site alongside you!

Maybe back when we were together and I used her computer, yeah. Otherwise, no.

Clippy to star in platformer - a joke I wish were true

I think most of the criticism in the EGM review is pretty accurate. The game has some quirks in the platforming aspects of its design, which some will find irksome, but that doesn't really stand in its way of being an instant classic. Okay why does someone deserve to be killed (even metaphorically) for saying that? Grim Fandango has really off-putting play control (and it has the petrified forest), but that hasn't stopped it from being an instant (longstanding) classic.
