Would be a bit late to do add on stuff for Psychonauts don't you think?

Whenever people star talking about swapping out fans and case mods and cooling and bundling cables and lighting and stuff I always think about the people who always have a half dismantled Fiero or Camaro on blocks in their driveway.

http://www.aintitcool.com/display.cgi?id=19423 It appears to be down again (for about 10 hours until it goes up on Amazon and IMDB) but the real H2G2 trailer with footage from the film popped up earlier today and I was wondering what people thought? Since the trailer is offline I'll drop in some stills... I'm sure some people are going to explode with anger (or at best, explode with discouragement and disappointment), but while I love the Hitchhiker books and Douglas Adams dearly, I'm not horribly attached to this movie. I hope it's entertaining, and cohesive, and funny, but I am not going to piss myself over how Vogons look, how Marvin is sort of hip looking and has a huge head, or whether or not Ford speaks with an accent. There are definitely some things that weird me out a bit (Zaphod's head coming out of his neck? what? and the shovels thing is a bit weird, but could be ok in context?), but as long as the movie has its heart in the right place and is actually funny and inventive, instead of being trite, or too much of someone elses "clever ideas" slapped on top of Adams, I will be pleased. The trailer is a way over the top in its generic American Trailerâ„¢ness, which irked me a little bit, but fortunately that has nothing to do with the film. Trailer Voice Guy, cheezy marketing-driven jokes about your friend being a space alien, and retarded jump cuts of the Vogon ships orbiting earth will not, I suspect, appear in the actual film. At least I hope not. Anyway, really before the trailer came out, I was looking forward to the movie but also worried that it would just be dull, or stupid, or worse have it end up being pretty good all around but be marred by a couple really horrible decisions along the line. After seeing the trailer I feel pretty much exactly the same way.

I think Spaff and I are there for Mojo, and Marek is there because everyone likes marek.

The percussion and many of the horns (and the harmonica) are live...? Maybe the fact that unlike grim there are other sounds going on is throwing you. Try turning the sounds off for a bit - and conversely try turning the music off - and you'll see that theyre both quite good.

http://progressive.stream.aol.com/aol/us/moviefone/movies/2005/hitchhikersguidetothegalaxythe_018894/hitchhikersguidetothegalaxythe_fl_dl.mov a clip in which they're on the Vogsphere being assaulted by guards programmed to stomp out original/dangerous thoughts or ideas My rating is: but acceptable. i thought it was funny. The whole movie was viciously slagged recently by the series' "ultimate fan" (quotes are mine) who runs the "Planet Magrathe" H2G2 news site, and has been taking a lot of heat in the general nerd/dork/geek community online because of it, but all suspicions that it could be a huge explosion of crap being taken into account, i'm still giving this film the benefit of the doubt, until I see it.

I've got no clue why some of them are prerendered... maybe because they have too many characters on the screen at once for it to handle?? but I know some of them are prerendered because they have things like half the level moving itself around, which I don't think the engine can do in realtime at least not with shadows and everything.

Your story is hilarious.

It will at least be hilariously epic looking for no reason. Which isn't necesarilly a bad thing. They are giant car robots the size of houses who fight and blow things up with loud wailing electric guitar.

The real game has save anywhere and checkpoint based autosave.

It's open source and free. You were finding something shady if it was trying to get you to pay.
-
Time for a different web browser, different source site?

Kingz is in there too.

No clue. Xbox.com says " HDTV 480p." They had it running on widescreen TV's at the launch party a couple weeks ago but we couldn't tell if it was squished or not. Most of the cutscenes were playing 4:3 if I remember correctly (?) but the game seemed to be supporting widescreen alright. It was hard to tell.

I think it tells you to press 'f' in one of the popups that appears. By default 'f' seems to be the 'action' key for doing any object specific anythings (talk to someone, use an object, etc).

I've put up a list of mirrors on Mixnmojo ... here there are some torrent mirrors, and also some http mirrors that don't require a user account.

Gamespot seems to be the only place. In a couple days it might show up elsewhere...

At GDC they had the PC version hooked up to a logitech pad that mimicked the PS2 controller, and the gamepad mappings were pretty much identical to the xbox one (except the "black" and "white" buttons were mapped to L2 and R2). I think it alternatively supports WASD/mouselook if you'd like, but that's probably not as good if only because of the loss of analogue thumbstick walking speed control.

I'd recommend a 7800 because they play 7800 and 2600 games 'out of the box' ... I don't really know for sure but I thought the 5800 was the shortest lived of the bunch and requires an adapter to play 2600 games? I had a 7200 growing up and there were a decent number of games made for it specifically (which were pretty nice looking until my friends got NESs). I would bet that they are NTSC/PAL restricted just because they're old, but you would have to look it up I guess.
