You're forgetting the part where they totally redesigned huge huge facets of the game when it went xbox. The game was, if I'm not mistaken, originally a 3rd/1st person hybrid multiplayer game, but was redesigned to be an almost entirely singleplayer / coop FPS. There was a lot of development time in between when Microsoft bought them and when the game came out. It wasn't all spent simply porting the PC game over to the xbox controller.

http://www.hcn.zaq.ne.jp/cabic508/rsf/frame1.html Scenes from Final Fantasy VI being reenacted by video game consoles. As in the actual consoles, you know, the PSP, and the Dreamcast, and the Wonder Swan. Featuring a hefty "final confrontation" dialogue between the PSP and a bunch of old consoles about why the PSP will destroy them all due to being above a "games only system," and lots of turn based fighting with special moves like "Xbox Live." Watching the MegaDrive dock with the SegaCD and 32X as it powers up before a fight is pretty gold. Care of GTxA.

Yes. Such nice merchandise I guess this is one of the values of owning the IP to your game instead of the publisher snapping it up.
-
Yes, yes it should. That's my un-asked-for advice

Which thread? url please. I couldn't find it.
-
Ah yeah, and "The PC version controls well enough too, provided of course you have a good USB controller, as the keyboard and mouse controls just don't feel right for this type of game (and even with a USB controller, camera control can be a bit of a pain)."

Are they the same reviews with different scores? Or is just the first page the same...

I killed the thread for the time being but I'll bring it back after the announcement. Sorry. We got a very kind letter from Double Fine asking us to remove the link as soon as humanly possible. It will return shortly. Don't post links to the DF store for the time being.
-
Any links to things that aren't supposed to exist yet have been removed at the request of Double Fine until the store is formally announced. With it still under construction they don't want people poking around. Makes sense, so lets be nice and honor their request. Don't post more links to it in the forums until it's open please. Thanks. Actually, let's just make this easy...

Ah hey those guys... they print the panic shirts... and by extension they will print Idle Thumbs shirts if we ever make them (as thumbs shirts will probably appear in a subsection of some the panic store of some sort, after they build it up a bit more). That will be the day.
-
First you say theres no medium or small size shirts in the double fine store and now you try to imply that I can't laugh at myself? What's with you today intrepid homoludens?

Psychonauts is 100% a ripoff of Harry Potter! Good work, CanarDuck, you totally got him! Schafer will never escape now from the horrible stigma you've heaped on him with this shocking revelation. Except maybe the fact that there are other stories about groups of kids with unique abilities other than Harry Potter, and as you will discover if you play the game past the first introduction bits, the storyline doesn't progress at all in the style of a Harry Potter story. It follows the guidelines of an adventurous comedy story, yeah, but ... well you'll see. Unless you're lame. Hehe correct What Schafer game is 100% original? Grim Fandango is a ripoff of the Day of the Dead, and Casablanca! And it's totally just a graphic adventure game like the others. Erm yes. The whole point with Schafer games is that he takes a huge pile of different influences and makes them his own, so the final product -- while you can recognize many of the parts that went into it from elsewhere -- is its own original whole.

I think the second one did definitely ride in on the press hype and general praise garnered by the first one. But it was more of a "whoa remember that game you didnt buy but everyone was talking about? Well, there's a new one coming out soon and now it's fucking extreme! Way cooler!!" thing, I think.

The Video Games Industry.

Well, considering Ubi can't get governments of the world to delete negative posts in any other forum on the Internet but their own, yes, you can thank God if you'd like.

sarcasm!

Yeah. Anyone at all. You don't see people doing it though - breaking out in unaccompanied well conceived meticulous harmonic renditions of popular songs - because it's gay, see? Glad we're all squared away on this subject.

Please Chris, it's just singing from what I can tell in that video. And anyone can sing.

Your life will never be the same (because you suddenly won't have one - at least not at work), once you start playing around with this http://www.balldroppings.com/ - requires sound to be awesome. Anyone got other fun evil distractions?

In a fit of internet-addled coolness, Trent Reznor uploaded a track off of the upcoming NIN album in GarageBand format, to encourage people to tinker with it. Not much else to report, but I thought that was cool. Here is the website, if you have GarageBand and want to temporarily fight off boredom.

Yeah Psychonauts comes out tuesday. Or at least ships to stores Tuesday.

The network programmer job also drops the ubiquitous "next generation" in there, which at this point can't be referring to Xbox: the first. If they were just looking for a Live programmer to drop downloadable stuff into Psychonauts it would probably say as much. I really doubt that's the case.
