In my opinion, despite the amount of money they spent on marketing, Majesco did a really terrible job of marketing Psychonauts. Their ad campaign was entirely focused on "the game has a crazy comedy story and is by Tim Schafer," which means absolutely nothing to anyone except for the people who already knew that and were buying it anyway. Why didn't the ads focus on the fact that you could set fire to everything, see through the eyes of your enemies, and enter other characters minds while doing extreme acrobatic stunts? That's how all other games are marketed because that's what gamers look for. "What is the newest game out that lets me be a ridiculous badass?" "Clearly not Psychonauts. Apparently it's a crazy looking comedy story from Tim Schafer, whatever that is."

They are very fun... And not very hard to set up Marek, Doug, Chris and I managed to get FF:CC working with very few problems (except a bad solder on Doug's GBA's Afterburner install which broke his select button... but that's nobody's fault but Doug's). This was back before we all shared one house of course, when it was all the west coast US and Dutch staffers in one house, and all the Texan and UK folks in another. Steve's presence has unified us.

Wow wait, is this thread simultaneously about the Live 8 concert, Dutch national politics something stranger than that, and Kirby's Canvas Curse?

Thanks for playing everyone! The winner of the copy of Doom 3 (and any other runner-up prizes we can scrounge up from our heaps of publisher-blessed review trinkets) will be announced soon.

Yeah, apparently someone has slipped some retard into the water supply for the forums. In other news, I must buy Meteos (and a DS).

They haven't been roomates for years, and have even had their own office (and business manager) for a while now.

We almost had E3 podcasts but the robot one that round.

I miss when the Daily Show was more about deflating the news of the day and less about Jon Stewart doing nothing but mugging at the audience and laughing at his own jokes. (I still like the daily show, I just think it's become a bit more inbred/twisted in on itself than it used to be... that show used to be pretty spot-on and slickly written without tons of winking self referential humor on top of what was by definition a winking self-referential show)

I don't know if I was being serious. Wait... wait, no, no I'm pretty sure I was joking.

No I think I mean what I said.

Um, the term is "African American."

I attempted to check it out a couple times but the only times I remembered to do so was when a couple of Chibi Robo fans were clued to the system for a half hour at a time.

No. If anything doom costs $55 while a Britney CD costs $15 because for every 1 person who buys a copy of Doom3, about 30 people buy the Britney CD. Also games are probably priced as high as they are simply because we keep buying them.

I think marek meant you're, Kingz. You know... ahem.

Internet film nerds seem to be exploding over it, declaring it the most fresh awesome thing ever, while mainstream critics are not liking it at all. That sort of response usually worries me, but I'll still be checking it out. I haven't seen the other 3 Romero zombie movies though, but the first one is arriving via Netflix tomorrow.

That wasn't the Minibosses it was the OneUps/OneUp Mushrooms! The Minibosses are these guys, while the OneUps are these guys. The OneUps have taken that Zelda recording off their site, which is too bad. That band is like a revolving door though. It seems like sometimes they have a really competent group (like when they recorded their cover of the Donut Lifts song from Yoshi's Island) and other times it sounds entirely slapped together (like at the GANG awards). ... also they apparently have an album coming out? Oh man, hilariously it includes not only that loungey Zelda cover, but a similarly inspired cover of the Koopa Beach track from SNES Mario Kart. If you played Mario Sunshine, their Isle Delfino cover sounds pretty spot on too. -
They've gone too far this time... (The Apocalypse is Nigh?)
Jake replied to Tanukitsune's topic in Idle Banter
Apparently. They now all have beautiful blue pupils, and smile. I hope they continue to make that face, looking right into your eyes, while slowly gutting you with large knives. -

Whoa they've been slightly de-extremed, apparently. Maybe it's because they're no longer simply Loonatics, but are now in fact Loonatics Unleashed: And are now a bit creepy. Too bad they didn't go for the tiny red cracked-out pupils from the "new bunny" flash video. -
I know people who pay attention know about this sort of thing, but aside from popup blocking, security, blah blah blah, the way Firefox integrates RSS into its bookmark system is absolutely amazing... If you bookmark a site in Firefox with a recognizible RSS feed, it becomes awesome. I can now for instance, track Thumb headlines from the favorites bar... That rules.

A very mixed verdict apparently. Can you translate that to words?

Not as silly as "geek" No offense intended to all who prefer 'geek' to 'nerd,' but come on! (the word 'geek' is ok on that shirt though. i see those around a lot and approve, because they are worn by the ladies)
