The amount of pro-"see it in the theater" anti-piracy and even anti-DVD propaganda was more than a little out of control. Damn Steven Soderbergh and Mark Cuban and their communist ways. Same-day-DVD sounds a little red to me.

That's a missed revenue opportunity on your store's part.

I think Gondry's point is sort of like playing Guitar Hero for two weeks versus, say, learning to play the guitar. Guitar Hero makes you feel like a rock virtuoso after only a few solid days of playing, but -- unlike spending years learning to play a real guitar -- you don't actually get any real reward out of it other than a high score in Guitar Hero.

The GTA look? When was GTA set in some crazy outdoor (green) hill (zone) environment?

Yeah. I agree with what you have just said. In the video the transitions between in-game cutscene and in-game game were very seamless and all looked pretty engaging. No clue if it will actually be fun when its a real game though. Blah.

Maybe JA has lots of open tags. JA seems like the kind of site that would have ragged tables that they didn't bother to close because they drew right in IE. Spaff used to write html like that

Its all in engine at least. The demo shown at E3 faded between moments like those in the screenshots and moments that looked very similar to those screenshots in which someone was actually playing without erm well without me noticing which was which. So maybe thats a bad thing but ... it was very nice looking.

Miyamoto and Takahashi were both working in their companies art departments before they made games... Miyamoto painted arcade cabinet art, and Takahashi was a concept artist... they were "artists or engineers" by trade, not "gamemakers."

Meteos would be pretty unplayable without a touchscreen unless you had a mouse...
