  1. Holy shit is right. That's an incredible thing for them to mess up.
  2. Well, it is MY private echo chamber, and you're not offering any constructive DISCUSSION. Coming in here and insulting everyone else's intelligence while insisting your read on things is obvious is completely tiring. It's not a discussion, it's you gawping and feeling smug about it. Also, calling people snowflakes and any of that. What is the point of that? Think for yourself, don't use that garbage. Please leave.
  3. Maybe the secret history book takes place after the show?
  4. That's really good. Surely meaningless aside:
  5. Or day buddy cop movies and Apatow comedies are all we'll have left.
  6. Why are you spending your time here if this is what you're going to post?
  7. @tabacco I'm paging you to this. My guess is because of some http/https stuff we changed lately but I'm not sure. Very sad sad to hear zune compatibility has broken.
  8. Oops I used to know that (after saying it incorrectly for years) but it's been a long time since I really watched or thought about Dr Who, so I backslid.
  9. Microscopic cheese wheel on microscopic bady includes microscopic babby.
  10. Oops yes I know that, sorry for misspeaking. 98.6° F would be a very strange ambient air temperature to expect a human to comfortably live in! Thanks for doing the cursory looking into what an actual ideal temperature is.
  11. I don't mean to be rude in asking this, but do you have any expertise or experience to back up that potential diagnosis?
  12. Oh man, I listened to California on loop for way too long when it was new.
  13. Please start your own podcast or at least stop listening to ours if you don't like it.
  14. Twin Peaks Rewatch 44: The Return, Part 9 Twin Peaks returns normal (its version of normal, at least) after last week's atomic blast, tons of plot threads get linked together by Gordon and the FBI, and Bobby Briggs has his day. Join us for a discussion of Twin Peaks The Return, Part 9. If you have a question for us or thoughts to share on the new season of Twin Peaks, write us at twinpeaks@idlethumbs.net. Looking for a place to discuss the season with fellow viewers? We recommend the Twin Peaks Rewatch forum. Listen on the Episode Page Listen on Soundcloud Listen in iTunes
  15. Twin Peaks Rewatch 42: The Return, Part 8 Wow. After watching what is definitely the strangest, most world-expanding episode of Twin Peaks, we do our best to drink full and descend, talking through the whole episode scene by scene before coming up for air and sharing our immediate impressions of the episode as a whole. Next week: A mid-season reflections episode: There isn't a new episode of Twin Peaks on the air next week (Part 9 doesn't air until July 9). We're taking advantage of the empty week to do an episode looking back on where we've been so far this season, heavy on reader mail. If you have any thoughts on the season as a whole, or want to dive deeper into Part 8, write us at twinpeaks@idlethumbs.net. Looking for a place to discuss the season with fellow viewers? We recommend the Twin Peaks Rewatch forum. Listen on the Episode Page Listen on Soundcloud Listen in iTunes
  16. Yeah I think that's the most likely answer. I don't know why we BOTH saw it as a make-up scar that was peeled off in a surprising way! It just didn't look like a bandage to me, but that's the most obvious explanation.
  17. Yep! As long as everyone remembers that how great/good/bad you find something is your own opinion and may differ from another viewer or critic. (For me, I have quibbles about a few scenes and there have been brief moments that I thought might be edited badly or scenes that felt like they were cobbled together from footage that wasn't meant for that purpose, but those moments have been a few drops in a huge bucket of otherwise great stuff. I also suspect that the small moments I'm not into will fade away as we get closer to the end of the series... that's actually already happening to me! Anyway that's me right now.)
  18. God we whiffed on that thief question. How did we not say Kangaroo Jack?? Or... https://mobile.twitter.com/Yibn/status/889613799774445571 some big misses on our part.
  19. Yeah I don't think Frost or Lynch needed to do this. I think they were both very interested in doing it (they spent years prepping for it) but I get the impression that their willingness to walk away from the deal and the project is what gave them power to get what they wanted. If they or their careers needed it, I don't think they would have played hardball. "We're making this great or we're not making it" is not what a desperate person says. "I don't NEED a new season of Twin Peaks. I WANT a new season of Twin Peaks." - Mr. L

  21. True Twin Peaks fan right here, haha.
  22. It was the opposite of in a vacuum though. Maddie's death was a huge piece of the culmination to the Laura Palmer storyline in the main run of the series. I don't see the point of making an "in a vacuum" comparison when so much of the conversation is about the context in which we're seeing these scenes.
