We were #6 for a while, but have dropped to #11. I was worried for a minute when I first saw that page that I would obsess over it, until I realized that I'd already forgotten about the page's existence until I saw this thread. Hooray! Anyway, sweet to be in the top 15 or whatever today.

Again, like that "what the fuck" thread, the problem with this article might be that someone in the UK press decided that it was worth making a big deal about, so people could have some more bullshit to stir themselves up about. That's my dumb take, at least.

I enjoyed the Brass Eye special just as much as the rest of the show. Maybe this has to do with my watching it basically back to back with the actual series, instead of waiting for years for more Morris, and building expectation and then merely getting... a good solid episode of Brass Eye. (Which is what it is.)

For all the retardation of American broadcast journalism, I find the British print media even more depressing/troubling. Few things in the media bring up a stronger desire to start a big bout of face punching than the shit that ends up in UK newspapers. It feels like the entire UK has been swept up in this wave of mass desire to be scandalized by stuff... a need to find stupid shit to blow out of proportion and act bothered about, leading to 1) bullshit reporting, 2) hilariously overwrought surveillance and institutionalized snitching. It's weird to me! We just love Jesus and bombs, and hate the gay over here.

Looks like it's correct in the vBulletin template, actually. I just dug around a bit. The vb phrase token which includes the "Are you sure you want to log out?" text is correct in the database, and is being called in the code at that point, but when the page is actually displayed, nothing's going on. Fortunately, whenever someone clever fixes it so that a message does display, I changed the log out phrase to "Toeblix says 'It's simple as a dimple.'" So there's that at least.

I think a lot o f us are administrators so a lot of us could probably turn that off. I wanted to see if there was a good reason it was invite only though.
