I'm in favor of letting more people in, the problem is that with fully open access comes griefers. That's why we started requiring manual permission in the first place. It's a pretty big problem for other fully open minecraft servers. -

Hey, whoever built the extension to the skybridge with the glass ceiling, it's letting mobs into the skybridge. They're hopping up the trees and dropping down onto the glass, then just walking over the door. -

I'll play with zoom levels tomorrow... Right now 128 is the smallest, but I can probably add a 64 and a 32 without too much trouble. I added some windows on the upper floors, but that's about it. Didn't seem that over the top. Also: I updated www.idlemc.com to have links to isometric maps for the past few days. Sorry the site is ugly, it was a really quickly hacked together template for the sake of having something to show. The backups page isn't done yet, but we have some backups of the old server to post, and from the server before that as well, in case people want to relive the magic locally in single-player. -

Seems easy enough... I'll take a stab at it later. -

The Google Maps map now has markers for signs! http://www.idlemc.com/maps/interactive A new site is still coming, hopefully tomorrow or Saturday, that will actually link to all of this stuff -

Yeah, as with pretty much anything Notch adds, it's pretty buggy. I think the health of the tools is maintained properly server-side but doesn't get properly synced to the client, right up until the point where it breaks. -

Hey what do you guys think about installing thing? http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Minecart_Mania! It adds a more straightforward 'interface' for minecarts. Obsidian block under the track + redstone current = launcher, etc. -

It should be doing that already. I'm not sure any were placed last time it rebuilt. -

Yeah, it's not really as cool as I'd hoped. I'll disable it tonight. By the way, c10t seems very resource friendly... generating these only takes about 15-20 seconds per map (even the last world only took about 30-45 seconds). It's somewhat slower if I restrict its memory usage and force it to swap to disk, but that's to be expected. Not doing textures makes a big difference. -

The world is reset, mobs are on, and you can view the current interactive world map at http://idlemc.com/maps/interactive/ (it's rebuilt nightly) I'm also automatically building isometric maps in day and night views, but I don't have a way to post them for viewing yet. My plan is to beef up idlemc.com to show them (and link to backups of old worlds) -

I wasn't planning to turn off any of the commands people have access to right now. I think losing /spawn would just be a hindrance, rather than adding anything to the game. -

c10t works pretty well... http://idlemc.com/maps/map.png and http://idlemc.com/maps/map-night.png (Warning: these are big) I'll work on automating these tonight. -

The consensus seems to be to roll a whole new world. Plus, I'm not actually sure it's possible to move the spawn to random coordinates without physically walking there first. -

Ugh, boost is an ultrapain to build. it's still compiling, so the server may be a bit slow until it's done. Edit: Whoops, just noticed there are binary builds of c10t. That's much easier -

Oh nice... I'll look at getting c10t set up tonight. As for re-rolling, tonight would work for me, if it works for everyone else (Cautionary note: I am in California, which is probably a different definition of 'tonight' from most of you ) -

Squid_Division and I got a subway line built out to his new development. There's an outbound booster, but not an inbound (yet) and the far end station isn't done yet. From the spawn, take the outbound Wonderland line and transfer at Wonderland station to the Winter line. -

Hmm, so since I basically flipped it along its axis the first time, would the solution then be to also flip it perpendicular to its axis (essentially, moving the booster carts to the other side of the one permanent cart)? -

Hey jennoa, I tried to rebuild the outbound booster at the downtown Wonderland line station, and it mostly works, but for some reason the switch won't flip back after the redstone turns off, so the booster carts end up just looping around the track endlessly. Could you take a look? (My goal was to reduce the time to launch by flipping the booster around, which did work, at least ) -

Hey, I rerouted your booster system at Wonderland to put the booster track on the other side and reduce the time it takes to boost (since the button is reachable from in the cart). Just tested it and everything seems to work fine, but wanted to let you know.
