  1. I'm fine with that, but I know others were against spawning nether materials. Anyone care?
  2. I just updated Craftbukkit and the Essentials plugin. Please let me know if you see any weirdness. One thing I've noticed is that new versions seem to 'fix' the trick we were using for braziers in Haven, so wood will always burn out now. Which is annoying. I'm especially interested in issues with commands, though. Some of the more recent Essentials updates tried to do a lot that broke things (like adding Nether support that made you always spawn and immediately die in an infinite loop), so we're running an only mostly new version that doesn't have Nether support.
  3. Sorry.. it was in the config.yml for the Essentials plugin, *most* of which is ignored in favor of the Permissions plugin, but apparently those two settings are the exception.
  4. I didn't know there was a delay. I'll check and see if there's a setting for it. Edit: Give it a try now and see if it's gone.
  5. Doubly weird because minecraft.idlethumbs.net is a CNAME to idlemc.com
  6. Can you tell if it's a minecraft.net issue or one with our server?
  7. I think that's the plugin I was trying to use to limit fire. I thought I had it set up not to mess with water or lava though. I'll poke at it today or tonight.
  8. There doesn't seem to be a way to change the spawn-protect-radius yet, so I've moved the spawn patio a little further out.
  9. I don't have a solution to the doors thing yet, but everybody should have proper permissions now, and I've switched to a better 'Essentials' package that replicates the hmod functionality better. Let me know how things are working for you, and if any commands you need are missing.
  10. Okay, I'll look for a way around that. Even for thedefault group that's too restrictive. The current plugin just has two settings, build:true and build:false, so hopefully there's a better one or I can mod the current one.
  11. Do you not have permission for doors? That's no good.
  12. The normal map is back online under craftbukkit, but for the moment nobody has permissions because I still need to copy them over.
  13. I will try to install Craftbukkit when I get home tonight (it'll probably be late) Edit: Looking at it now. Bukkit appears to have put everything into plugins, which means there's a nightmare mess of plugins to install and configure. I may or may not have this done by tonight, but the server will be down for the time being, because I need to test the new one and I don't have the RAM to run two instances side by side on different ports. If you manage to log in and see a fresh world, don't panic, it's only temporary.
  14. $60/month for a VPS with enough memory to support Minecraft. I only ask because the only posts in here for days were people saying they were tired of feeling pressured to play the game so they had stopped. I'll give Craftbukkit a try, but I don't have a ton of confidence in its stability. In the meantime, downgrading is amazingly easy, and the game hasn't been updated in a week or so (nor is it likely to with Notch on vacation for a couple of weeks)
  15. So, is there continued interest in keeping the server running? It sort of sounds like people are getting tired of it, and nobody's logged on since the 22nd. I was thinking about trying to install Craftbukkit (the bukkit dev build) to see how it goes, but if nobody's playing, there's probably little point in bothering.
  16. Okay, because there seems to be no stable hmod update forthcoming, and Bukkit seems to be mired in some legal issues with Mojang, we're going ot keep running the 1.1 server for now, sorry. You can follow the instructions from my earlier post to get connected for the time being by downgrading your client to 1.1.
  17. There's also this: http://www.fileplay.net/file/12487/minecraft-1-1-client The server's still up and running with 1.1, it just won't allow 1.2 clients. Edit: Yep, just tried it, it worked fine. In the Future, you can delete the version file to force it to re-update.
  18. There's also this guy's unofficial build, but comments suggest it's pretty buggy: http://forum.minecraftpvp.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=17
  19. Still waiting on either an updated hmod (which may not happen) or a stable-enough build of craftbukkit.
  20. Incidentally, I'm not sure where you were when you logged out last night, but you may want to /spawn as soon as you login to avoid falling to your death
  21. Waiting on an hmod update before updating the server. Unfortunately, it sounds like hmod is a dead project, so I'm hoping for an unofficial build from someone on the team. Its replacement, Bukkit, apparently isn't stable yet.
  22. Not sure what happened, but I restarted the server process and it seems fine now.
  23. For the sake of convenience, I connected Jennoa's dome up to Haven's backyard, via a tunnel. Walk out the door in the community chest level, go right, and follow the path 'til you find the entrance. It's just past a tree on your left.
  24. I did some renovations in the tree farm, moving the floor down a block and planting more densely. It's a little more effort to harvest from now, but it's much more productive.
