  3. I Had a Random Thought (About Video Games)

Fair enough. I would disagree, as I don't believe that the objective of such an undertaking would be preservation, but rather adaption. Like a book that becomes a film. I do, however, see exactly why you think that. To summarize my feelings on this topic, I see Twine as the androgynous child of books and games. A bit hard to classify, but definitely not dissimilar to either.
  4. I Had a Random Thought (About Video Games)

I don't condone doing this to a classic, but have the original, central narrative as the critical path, and flesh out the world with branching options that all eventually lead back to the central narrative. This is how I write twines a lot of the time, sort of like The Walking Dead game. Your choices have no merit in the scheme of things, and the central narrative is always the same.
  5. I Had a Random Thought (About Video Games)

Moby Dick and Ultra Business Tycoon III are clearly different mediums. I can't argue against that. You are however using two extremes. Moby Dick is a very booky-book, and UBT III is a very Gamey-game. While Moby Dick would not be considered literature if it's origins were in UBT III, if Moby Dick was turned into a more non-linear Twine experience, while still preserving the original text, does it lose it's literature label?
  6. I Had a Random Thought (About Video Games)

Of course Twine is literature! Literature is just a word that means (these days) a creative writing. That is all. It has no other connotations. Whether something is good literature is another matter entirely. But nobody should dismiss an entire medium of creative writing as 'not literature'. That's pretentious.
  7. I Had A Random Thought...

    Why? Why? WHY!?
  8. Intoxicated:

Wait so if I murder my friend and stash his body under Mrs Creswitt's oak tree, am I likely to tell my remaining friends about it when I'm drunk? Because I don't give a damn? Or can I still keep my secrets.
  9. The Double Fine Radar

Probably a bit too active unfortunately. I do remember that face very well. Utterly terrifying. As a side note: I wish I could get up at 6:40 AM. I used to get up at like, 5 AM. But I am now lazy af. What is your secret? Good to see you again!
  10. The Double Fine Radar

Haha being in Australia often makes it difficult for international discourse.
  11. Intoxicated:

I've never been intoxicated. Ever. Is it worth it? Do I gain insight into something beyond this dimension? I have no desire to get smashed at this stage, because I don't see any benefits. Please enlighten me.
  12. Life

I am an unorganized, disheveled mess. I'm fine mentally/emotionally, I'm just a lazy idiot as usual. And yet I join ANOTHER forum. I'm truly the bidiot of the week.
  13. The Double Fine Radar

Pfft. Double fine-rs. Who needs em? I've already met a person who's damned me to hell, so i'm feeling right at home!

Yo yo yo! I accidentally sorta kinda plagiarized this thread in a way. Not really. Well my thread's cookbook themed as well, buuut... Let's be friends. If y'all like a recipe from here, then post it for inclusion in the Super Cookbook! Many apologies, SuperBiasedMan. I'll be sure to not plagiarize you again. After all, there's a whole set of other threads that I've got to rip off.
  15. The Idle Thumbs Super Cookbook!

I have now named the lasagna Super Meat Boy Sandwich. Seems fitting. Haha duly noted, jennegatron. I shall modify my pajama shopping list to assist my cooking.
