  1. Count me in for either role. Been running a pathfinder game with two seperate groups using roll20 and discord this year, to moderate success (only 2/9 players dropped out so far!) but significant enjoyment on my part at least.

Regarding the google doc, may i recommend an additional field to fill in? I think it might be worth it if everyone notes down what kind of style/tone of game they're looking for. System used can inform atmosphere to an extent, but you could still end up joining a sprawl game expecting dark and seedy crime thriller for mature players when everyone else wants to run benny hill with laser guns. Can also help the DM ensure a more comfortable experience when they know the players expectations re: rules strictness and tone going in to the game.

  2. I started playing NG+ today. It's still really good! I would like to find everything, but I doubt that'll happen. IT's actually kinda huge.

I definitely did not get anywhere near everything without walkthroughs.

I recommend getting at least 12 of the key-chips to unlock the door in town, though.

And yeah, 800 for the second stage of the challenge. Gives you an outfit that halves stamina consumption, which is anywhere from extremely to marginally useful depending on your play style.

  3. I'm getting the stiffness, but not the blandness. Banter with a vaguely sardonic AI is spice enough to break the monotony, its just the flow is a little off. Also this might just be me, but 'food consumption zone' sounds a little on the nose unless you end up doubling down on that kind of sterile nomenclature for everything else in the story.

  4. Contextualise it in the beginning, maybe give 'Jerem' a little bit more time to breathe as your only named character. I found him whiny in the first part and I didn't realise why until the second part (the bag was heavy, the long windy stair case really was long and windy).

You might not need to write much more but it might help to give more of a sense of fatigue, lengthening sentences in which Jeremy has to do anything usually help as it give the reader a sense of the duress he is under.

I might try padding out the first section a bit, but I'm wary about making him too sympathetic in the first half. The idea was to get his fatigue across but also in the way that he is fatigued, but in a whiney sort of way.

  5. I liked it, it reminds me of the short stories Roald Dahl used to write. I don't get what the text from the print out is supposed to mean, nor do I understand why the last line would be obvious but there is a really good use of the limited number of words to provide a whole load of information.

My only suggestion might be to give a bit more context for Jeremy's exertion at the beginning - he came off as whiny until I full realised how much weight he was carrying in the second part of the story.

Sorry, just to clarify 'context at the beginning' - contextualise it during the first half, or provide more context for it later?

  6. sometimes there's boxes, sometimes there aren't. All part of the resource management. Besides, alongside bullet reflection and absorption, not to mention just the base dash, there are more than enough tools to deal with a fight you go into with no ammo. It's not like it charges from hitting enemies particularly slowly.

  7. a patch to make the game easier!

Most of these just seem like streamlining more arduous tasks, like warp pads refilling health kits instead of having to go chasing after them in the easier dungeons when you run out. Invincibility frames is interesting, might lead to a more up close and personal play style. Personally i would always keep distance and kite groups around in a circle, as being able to get away from all possible enemy attacks real quick was pretty necessary in the later levels. The faster heal speed seems... unnecessary. Not something I recall anyone being frustrated over, and it's not like the windows to heal were too short in any of the bosses.

  8. Yeah fuck soccer man. I thought I'd get something nice for finally beating that cheating bastard but no.

    no.

Also the rest of the game's pretty cool. Currently going back and trying to clear out the areas. It's disappointing when I think of something clever to do in an area and it turns out it wasn't hiding a secret.

What's the deal with NG+? What all does it reset? Just the diamonds and boss switches?

Its basically a complete do-over except you are always wearing a cape that reduces your max health to 2 (cant change it) and you start out in town with no weapons but all sword and dash skills.
