As soon as my Sister told me this was a late night recording I had to watch this week instead of listen to witness the madness with my own eyes.

Anyone got a link to that bit where Chris and jake stayed silent and just let Nick talk? I can't quite remember when that happened and would like to relisten to the clip!

Wolfenstein 2 - PS4
Hmm I am mixed on this. I loved TNO and TOB but this felt like a step back in many ways.. gunplay and level design were worse, the constant BJ preaching got boring, the mixed tone with the story, the 1970s exploitation film thing didn't work for me, never did the sassy black woman and the other uninteresting characters.
I still had fun killing Nazis in brutal ways, but yeah lacking overall.

On 1/17/2018 at 11:23 AM, Henke said:Yeah, Shadow Tactics was great.
Seconding the Commandos 2 rec, and adding Satellite Reign. It might look more actiony on the surface, but stealth is also a viable tactic for most missions, as long as you stick mainly with the Hacker and Infiltrator units.
Currently £2.99 on Humble Store, will check it out!

1 hour ago, thepaulhoey said:I'd highly recommend you check out Commandos 2. I don't know how much of it is nostalgia but that was the pinnacle of that style of game for me. I did replay the first few missions last year and thought it held up well.
I think I will, looking on steam the historic low was 39p so i'll wait until the next sale.

Shadow Tactics - PC - 19 hours - a few normal mostly easy difficulty
Boy oh boy this game. It looks and sounds gorgeous, I have never played one of these kind of stealth games, am now a fan. So many challenges, play it multiple ways. It was tough as hell sometimes though.

I completed quite a few games, I bought significantly less than normally. Was definitely more of a deal hunter in 2017.
What say you?

Last game of 2017 I finished was Halo Wars on PC. I never played it on the Xbox 360 and finally got around to it thanks to a xbox game pass free trial. It felt a little RTS for babies but I enjoy Halo stuff. Definitely made me interested in playing Halo Wars 2 in the future. (I actually downloaded the Halo Wars 2 demo and it was pretty good, game looks SO much better visually, no surprise there though).

Homefront - Normal Difficulty - 3 Hours
Got this free on Humble Bundle. Never played it when it first released. It's a "cod clone" but at least the setting is interesting. Totally unremarkable in every way but it was fine shooting people for a few hours.
The multiplayer is kind of active in a tiny way so might play a few rounds here and there.

Games that came out this year, I bought hardly any:
Horizon Zero Dawn - Fine but extremely overrated. Looks great but boring repetitive gameplay.
What Remains of Edith Finch - Short, but very interesting. Had a great time playing it.
Night in the Woods - Cool setting, vibe, interesting story. Up there as one of my favourites.
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy - More Uncharted, not a bad thing but its a safe game overall. Had fun playing it.
Dishonored: Death to the Outsider - More Dishonored, a great thing! I love this series.
Hollow Knight - Only played like 30 minutes can't rate it yet.
Yakuza 0 - Only 1/4 the way through, its good fun but can't rate it enough yet. My first time playing the series.
The only other new 2018 game I will get this year will be Wolfenstein 2.
My GOTY so far is Dishonored!

I got Yakuza 0 last month and its my first time playing the game. I am chapter 4 of 17 I think and i'm like 15 hours in.. and i've hardly touched any mini games or side stuff. Beating up dudes is pretty fun.

Kathy Rain - Four Hours
Won this on Reddit. Not super into point and click games but would like to play more. I enjoyed the Twin Peaksness and the setting of the game. Found Kathy a little too edgy for my tastes though.
Had fun playing through it though.

Huh, so..
I got my pull up bar out so I can start using it again this week.
I recorded The King of Comedy on tv as i've always heard good things and planned on watching it this week.
I have been already enjoying the Garfield tweets.
3/3 for me!

This is the best Halloween related thing of all time.
I even bought a shirt for my Sister last year with it on:
I recently discovered this and love it too, I wonder what app this was made in?
which skeleton are you most like?
In terms of films i've watched alot this year.
Watched:
IT (original and new)
Friday the 13th (original and remake)
The Grudge (Japan)
The Thing
Saw
Saw 2
Nightmare on Elm Street 2,4,5,6,7 (watched 1 and 3 last year so they are still fresh)
Hellraiser
Hellbound: Hellraiser 2
Evil Dead 2
Army of Darkness
To Watch:
Halloween
Christine
Scream 1-4
Poltergeist

I am probably looking forward to this game more than any other right now. Going to be a long wait though.. at least these 2player production mini docs are SO good. I have watched the Broken Age one twice through now and its incredible.

PUBG is going to be massive on the Xbox.
My PC can't handle PUBG, and the PS4 has no other battle royale style games so I gave this a go and am really enjoying it.
The game needs a little work, like auto pick up ammo, easier weapon / material switching, the ability to swap shoulders when aiming, maybe adding vehicles to the game. But its fun, colourful and the base building makes it unique.

I watched The Usual Suspects for the first time in over five years. What a great movie. I obviously knew the twist but seeing how the film played out was still great. What a masterful ending.

This totally works. Can we just have a thread called "Read in Nick's Breckons voice" where we post stuff?

Dishonored: Death of the Outsider - Medium Difficulty - 8/9 Hours
I really enjoyed playing this game and I hope its not the end of the franchise. These Dishonored games along with the likes of Deus Ex are easily some of the most fun games for me. I really love the gameplay and mechanics of playing your way. Will have to play through this again later (new game+ where you can play with Dishonored 2 powers). Alot of value here for the price - at £15.
Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure - Easy Difficulty - 12 Hours
I have never played a Tex Murphy game, or any with live action cut scenes, so no nostalgia effect on me here. I thought it was pretty great. Really cheesy and had this old school feeling. I loved how bad it looked during the live action scenes. Some of the puzzles were pretty easy but others were real head scratchers. Would definitely play a sequel.
Game only cost 750k to make which is very impressive to me.

Damn this show wrecked me... so many questions.. There has to be a fourth season surely??
I think this season had alot of ups and downs, one thing for sure though is my excitement of sitting down every Monday night to watch it knowing i had NO idea what I was about to see will be missed. Never experienced this with any show before.
I found Diane and Coop being together weird, and man Audrey? Hello? How's Annie? -
Man this show wrecked me...so many questions!
Edge of my seat during the station scene in episode 17.
