  1. I wonder if Rob, Troy and any other 3MA listeners have played Steam & Iron? Did a search on the forum and got no hits so I thought I'd throw a post up. Steam and Iron is a WW1 era tactical simulator of naval operations. It comes with a ton of historical scenarios, some 'what ifs' and a random battle generator. There's three levels of command available to the player from 'Captain's Mode' (almost total control of your entire fleet) up to the hardest and most realistic 'Admiral's Mode' (pray to God your squadrons read your signals). You can grab a demo and more info here.... http://www.navalwarfare.net/steam&iron.html I did a 'presentation' for it last year; it gives you an idea what the game is like.... There's a few different versions of SAI. There's the regular SAI, then there's a campaign expansion that simulates the naval arms race between GB and Germany. Also there's one that covers the pre-Dreadnought Russo-Japanese war if that's your thing. And just released a couple of weeks ago is the latest iteration - Rule the Waves; a turn based strategy that covers the period between 1900 - 1925. You get to annoy neighbours, design ships, foment revolutions and fight it all out on the high seas. Info here.... http://nws-online.proboards.com/thread/335/rtw-rule-waves-information-downloads 'Let's play' thing here... RPS review here.... http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2015/07/17/the-flare-path-rule-the-waves/ Anyway, if you're looking for something groggy and different I hope I've piqued somebody's interest.
