  1. Hearthstone: Because what Magic really needed was F2P mechanics

I think the worst thing about legendaries in low ranked games is inexperienced players feel worse when they lose to them, maybe not even recognizing that they just played really poorly against a goofy ass stalagg fuegen deck, while good f2p players can't really do control decks so they have to be more aggressive, and in turn that makes it where you can't really go too far with control on the ladder unless you have a pretty rock solid deck with all the booms and stuff. A format removing legendaries would remove the late game and create an artificially aggressive arms race that would be even less fun IMHO. I'd like to see some low dust cards that enable budget players to run controlly decks so the meta wouldn't be so warped by the lack of cheap endgame, and of course casual matchmaking could be a lot better. Anyway, I still have a blast with both my f2p account and my large collection account, I used to shoot for ranks but now have the most fun trying to find the ceiling for whatever dump crap I'm playing.
  2. Idle Food - Cooking!

Seeing the hot dog fried rice reminded me of this chowhound thread entitled What do you do with "Hot Dog Water"? Some suggested uses for the vile broth include hot dog water risotto, hot dog shaved ice, hot dog water oatmeal, and hot dog water martini
  3. Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft

Pumped for next weeks announcement, curious if they will use a brawl to preview the upcoming expansion
  4. Official Giant Bomb Thread Mostly for Complaining About Dan

Last show, Gerstmann also said he ate Burger King and didn't enjoy it!! could this be a new era of GB?
  5. Official Giant Bomb Thread Mostly for Complaining About Dan

Holy crap, thanks Polish. I'm now downloading 9 hours of 2 dudes riding in a car, not sure if this is a new low or a new high. I really hope Jeff spends at least one of those hours complaining about something that I don't like, that's when he's at his best IMHO.

Feel like the tavern brawl was just what the game needs. A place where they can just throw stuff at the wall and new and old players can both mess around in it. I would really like integrated tournament support, but I realize that's only something the more competitive minded players care about.
  7. Idle Thumbs 214: Ship It, Droopy

I feel like Cullen Skink could also be the name of an incompetent Star Wars bounty hunter, like, maybe the guy that captured Salacious B. Crumb (the Jabba pet guy).
  8. New people: Read this, say hi.

Hey folks, been meaning to register after I heard about the wizard jam and say hi since you guys have such a friendly sounding audio show, been listening off and on for a few years. Yall also sound like such nice people that you'd drive away all the real party poopers. I have a responsible adult type tech job managing some web and server based projects along with some audio production, been poking around game dev stuff lately too. Recently playing a lot of Hearthstone, Cities Skylines, Diablo, and generally trying out whatever sounds neat. As far as gaming parents stories go, my 70 yo dad really likes the 1999 Freelancer game.
