  1. WIZARD JAM 2016 // Welcome Thread

I'm already considering three games for the next Jam. XCOM 2, the X-treme and quite frankly disappointing sequel to the critically acclaimed and also non-existent game, "Former Communist", with tons of lore from the first game, and zero subtlety. Cloud Atlas, a map building game set in the skies. Randy Smith, a game where you must carefully navigate your way through a blacksmith's workshop to reach a cold shower.
  2. [Release] The First Age of Extreme

This looks incredible, will it be needing music perhaps?
  3. [Dev Log] A Person-shaped Thing is a Person

I would gladly collaborate on the audio side again, this looks really interesting!
  4. [Release] Zombie Train Beyond Earth

This looks great! Any audio/music help you might need, I would be happy to help!
  5. Wizard Jam 2016 Team Building Thread

That definitely sounds like something I could do!
  6. Wizard Jam 2016 Team Building Thread

Okay, I can't figure out Slack, but I would like to work on this, it sounds fun and interesting.

  8. Wizard Jam 2016 Team Building Thread

I am looking to join this shindig once again. I'm interested in doing music and/or audio (my area of expertise), and trying my completely inexperienced hand assisting in writing or design or whatever else anyone needs. The best way to contact me is on here, or e-mail ([email protected]). My timezone is British time so like 5 hours ahead of east coast USA, 8 ahead of west. I'm interested in working on any game, and as many as possible, I have a pretty intense work rate so I can juggle a bunch at once. I did music on a couple of games last year, I've got a master's degree in Sound and Music for Interactive games, and I've got my composing Soundcloud here, or my regular songwriting one here. I look forward to working with you.
  9. [Dev Log] Unnamed Bullet+Physics Hell

Cheating on projects is my kink, don't you dare shame me.
  10. [RELEASE] Happy Happy Krampusnacht

This looks so good, and if you're looking for some old school sounding music, I could definitely try to whip something up?
  11. [Dev Log] Unnamed Bullet+Physics Hell

Is it ok for musicians to work on multiple projects? Because if so, sign me up!
  12. Winter Wizard Jam Idea Book!

Customer service simulator where you have to navigate through angry Christians who are upset over hearing the phrase "happy holidays" Chestnuts roasting over an open FIREWATCH You start off the game as a Nathan Drake/Lara Croft type character stealing treasures and killing enemies. Once you "lose a life" you're prosecuted for all of the murders and property damage you've committed and caused, as well as desecrating national heritage sites and stealing priceless artefacts from indigenous peoples. In the winter.

I talked in another thread, but hi hello, I'm interested primarily in writing music, but I'm willing to throw my consummately inexperienced hand in at some writing or something like that. PM would be a fine way to contact me, plus my e-mail [email protected]. I'm in England, so that timezone, I'm interested in working on literally any kind of game. I've just finished my master's in Sound and Music for Interactive Games, and I'm really looking to get some good practical real world experience with this stuff. I've got some links below, the top one is film and coursework for hypothetical games and stuff like that, the bottom one is more just songs and stuff. I have a bit of experience with audio in UE4 and also using the audio/music middleware Wwise, so if any of that's being used, I can try to ply my limited expertise there. https://soundcloud.com/j-desmond-hartley https://soundcloud.com/jordandh

Sorry for the delay, I was away from the computer for a few days. TheLastBaron is correct, Wwise is especially good at music because you can use musical timings a lot more easily and it has a nice post loop thing which catches the reverb tails, so you can loop really seamlessly. It also has systems for vertical remixing (so adding, subtracting, or otherwise affecting layers within a composition) and horizontal resequencing (moving onto new loops either randomly, once a certain criterion/criteria has/have been met, or some combination of the two). Basically, it's a quick and relatively painless way of making music more dynamic and reactive. For example, you could have a layer of music get louder as you get closer to an object, which you could use for navigation (like in Twilight Princess) or for indicating the tension of being proximal to an enemy (like in one or more of the Splinter Cell games).
  15. Winter Wizard Jolly Jam interest thread

I was so mad that I missed the last one, so I'm excited for this if it happens. I don't know anyone here, but I write music and I just finished a master's degree in video game sound and music and I'm looking for some experience, so if anyone wants some tunes for this I will compose the absolute shit out of them. I can do it like asset-cannon style where I just launch audio files at you, or if you're working with something which can do Wwise integration, I can build a decent Wwise system. I do some orchestral stuff and mess around with synth sounds and do folk music and rock and stuff like that. I've got a couple of Soundcloud profiles, one of which has a song with lyrics made entirely of Dr. Ian Malcolm quotes. https://soundcloud.com/j-desmond-hartley https://soundcloud.com/jordandh
