  1. Oh man, I spent so many hours with Star Wars Rebellion. I doubt I would have if I couldn't turn off the C3PO voice updates.
  2. Star Wars VII - Open spoilers

    So who else thinks that
  3. Michael Buble of Bloodbeef, the Bubble Guy.
  4. Good article on Bostrom and AI: http://thebulletin.org/artificial-intelligence-really-existential-threat-humanity8577
  5. Re: the singularity I always enjoyed this Bruce Sterling talk. It's from 2004, but still good and still relevant. http://longnow.org/seminars/02004/jun/11/the-singularity-your-future-as-a-black-hole/
  6. Just listened to this. In regards to the game with gravity-reversing platforming, I'm surprised nobody brought up the NES game Metalstorm!
  7. The Star Wars name talk reminded me of one of my favorite games: "Hockey player or Star Wars character?"
  8. The Singularity

This talk by Bruce Sterling from 2004 on this topic was pretty good. I honestly don't pay as much attention to the pie-in-the-sky Kurzweil types. http://longnow.org/seminars/02004/jun/11/the-singularity-your-future-as-a-black-hole/
  9. Post Apocalyptic Books

    A Canticle for Liebowitz.
  10. These games are a mess, but I play every single one because hey, you get to parkour across historical settings and air assassinate dudes. That's all I really care about. I really hope they clean up the interface and insane number of boring side missions from Unity. Looking forward to buying it for $20 one year from now.
  11. That kind of exposition is all over the place in bad science fiction (and some good stuff too, it's just better disguised). Jokingly referred to as AYKB (As You Know Bob).
  12. Might as well just be Darth Evil for all of them, distinguished only by Evil Serial Number.
  13. Right? The cryptic and oblique nature of the two would be a natural fit.
  14. I could see a good science fantasy setting, a la Gene Wolfe or Jack Vance, working pretty well. Would play. A Mass Effect pew pew laser guns thing? No.
