  1. The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

New M83 is live! Only a few tracks in so far.
  2. I have watched a few of the streams for a bit and it looks fantastic as is to be expected. I'm going to continue working through my From backlog so won't get to this for some months but I enjoy going online and reading about others experiences when playing these games and watching tip vids, etc so waiting some time for those to build up is probably a good thing for me anyway.
  3. Life

I do not regret switching to contacts and look forward to getting lasik.
  4. One Day In San Fransisco

    You check airbnb?
  5. It wasn't more than a mild annoyance, 2nd run through I made a lot of changes in how i played. In 2nd run I've used one human effigy whereas before i used about 5 (including wasting 2 throwing them into a fire and then scratching my head when humanity was not restored. So I'm glad I restarted anyway.
  6. Ended up restarting sometime in the past week or so with a new build and a more firm grasp on the systems. My new build has much less stamina but after leveling up ADP and VGR a bit and then getting some decent armor/reinforcing my sword my Knight is pretty tanky and I am absolutely loving this. I want to try a Faith build later on too but this most recent run I have been very pleased with how I have spent souls and have almost no regrets so far, which is probably uncommon for me with RPGs.
  7. After failing to get into Bloodborne (I completely lack the patience and never got out of the main area) I have been wanting to buy it again and give this series another go, so I picked up Dark Souls II for PS4 and I think things are finally clicking for me with these games. I'm level 19 now so a few hours in and starting to find my groove and surviving quite well so far. I'm doing a lot of farming and really learning to be more patient with the game and not bum rush every enemy. Looking forward to continuing with this, then back to Bloodborne and eventually DSIII.
  8. What's for Breakfast?

^ we got one of these a few years ago - so good! My advice is to try frozen fruit in place of ice, and don't forget the peanut butter
  9. Life

Nice! Enjoy! For others looking for a more comfortable chair I have been using this for better part of a year now and can recommend 100%: http://m.staples.com/Staples-Hyken-Technical-Mesh-Task-Chair-Black/product_990119
  10. Life

    What did you get?
  11. Life

Funnily enough I have had insurance for past 5 or 6 years but never go to the doctor. I did go to ER when I got sick which was a waste of time and my portion of the copay was $1500. Never again. They can just let me die next time...
  12. Life

Obviously I don't know your circumstances but something similar happened to me a few years ago during a serious illness (not life threatening but very impactful at the immediate time). It could be very likely that if you have some anxiety related to feelings of sickness/dying that you're hyper aware of every single happening with your body which is causing panic attacks constantly. I'll spare every one the boring details of my story but if you want to talk more on specifics you can PM me.
  13. The Witness by Jonathan Blow

I've done about 200 puzzles and got none of the +1s but I've been avoiding most spoiler tags and can only assume the +1s are the panels laying on the ground. I share played with a friend on ps4 for an hour which was fun. So far I have looked up 2 solutions on some rather basic puzzles. I don't feel so bad about it because I struggled with them for a while and couldn't understand what they were trying to teach me.
  14. The Witness by Jonathan Blow

When you do get it you'll be thoroughly pleased I think. I quite enjoyed that area.
  15. The Witness by Jonathan Blow

    Got really motionsick playing tonight
  16. The Witness by Jonathan Blow

I've been using pencil and paper a lot to help with solving puzzles. Haven't solved any with the yellow dots yet. Unlocked 1 laser so far.
  17. The Witness by Jonathan Blow

Played an hour so far this morning. Really loving it so far. Already got to a few very clever puzzles. I think in my first hour i solved about 50 puzzles give or take a few.
  18. The Witness by Jonathan Blow

I too was a bit surprised to see the price at $40. I was sure it would be $30. I'll still be buying it day one as $10 isn't a very big deal to me and I've been anticipating this game for years. I think n1nja made a great point: the development cycle of this game was obviously drawn out. Blow is very fussy about his games, which is fine I suppose, but I'd imagine a majority of people don't care that he chose to extend development by a year or whatever to build his own engine. I'm interested to see what kind of response this gets from the casual crowd.
  19. the Talos Principle

Jon Blows design sense is probably in line with many of these principles: https://www.vitsoe.com/us/about/good-design This is not referring to game design but most of these principles are universal.
  20. That Dragon, Cancer

Heard the Reply All podcast about it, I'm sure I'll pick it up and play it at some point. My step dad is being treated for cancer right now and I don't think I can handle this at the moment.
  21. RIP David Bowie

Had put off listening to Blackstar, now it's even more poignant. Started crying halfway through Lazarus.
  22. Serial - The Podcast

I'm sure most have seen the Jinx by now, but I recommend it if you haven't. It succeeded where season 1 of Serial came up short. I was a little disappointed that they decided to do another story deeply rooted in the Islamic culture, hopefully future seasons can branch out a bit more.
  23. Gear VR

Or the other galaxy I'd imagine. S6 or whatever
  24. Fallout 4 — Boston Makes Me Feel Good

My wife who is a very casual gamer but has thoroughly enjoyed both F4 and MGS5 has somehow managed to discover and exploit a duping glitch.
