  1. If you're worried about your build it may be worth it to just start over. I know that sounds awful but you can blow through most of this game like it's nothing once you done it once. And yeah magic is pretty great in this game. Some would say it's broken but the game is still super hard with a magic build so if it sounds appealing to you I would just go for it.

  2. If it was five bucks I wouldn't really care. Not everyone has time to level a character but would still like to see all the story. I can't help but feel that those people will be disappointing by Destiny but they do exist. My issue is the price which is blatantly exploitative in a way the emotes and all that are not.

  3. Well I thought the first Xenoblade was a glorified B tier PS2 game and nothing I've seen makes me think Cross will be any different. I wasn't that impressed with Captain Toad in Mario World and I've never heard a kind thing about Wonderful 101 that wasn't along the lines of "Play this for 15 hours and get really good at it and it's a ton of fun in the same way as other Platinum games!" but since there's other Platinum games why bother?. To be fair to those games I do plan to pick them up sometime soonish. But I doubt they're really gonna change my mind.

The other big issue is that even if a lot of Nintendo's games play differently they all kind of look the same. They all look like they're made from the same plastic. It looks nice! But they've somehow found a way to make 3D World, Smash, Mario Kart, and even Splatoon and Wind Waker all feel kind of the same in terms of art.

  4. My big issue with the Wii U is that most of it's games are ones I've played before. Mario Kart 8 may be the best Mario Kart but it is just another Mario Kart. And the same can be said for 3D world, Smash Brothers, Pikmin, Woolly World, and even Splatoon doesn't really feel all that different to me from most other online shooters. So all I'm left with is a console with one game I really love (Bayonetta 2) a bunch I've basically played before and Wind Waker. Which I'm not sure time has been especially kind to, but I imagine that's just me. I honestly think I may have gotten more use out of the thing as a way to play old GBA games then anything else.

  5. Alright I filled it out based on how I felt about them when I last saw them. Otherwise it would be 1: WALL-E 2 through 5: Toy Story I guess?

EDIT: Is it weird that I've had the doc open for a while just to see what anonymous animals show up? So far my favorite is anonymous chubacabra.

  6. I'm trying to think of a Pixar movie that I actually really like and the best I can come up with is Wall-E. Up is more then a tad manipulative, I could really do without the objectivist subtext of The Incredibles and Ratatouille, I don't really remember Finding Nemo, A Bugs Life, or Monsters Inc, I never saw Brave or Monsters University, and didn't like Cars for obvious reasons. I used to like Toy Story but I don't especially like them much these days, and I did not like Inside Out at all.

So anyways anyone heard of this Miyazaki dude? I hear he's pretty good. Made some movie called Blood Souls about some fish that really likes ham or something.

  7. The big things about skill builds is, for one, skill weapons tend to do a lot of damage but they do it with a lot of individual attacks. So you need the end to back it up. I'd say at least 25. And second if you're good at getting off visceral attacks for fans of the genre consistently then you've basically won the game as skill also ups the damage of VAs after 18 points. It can get pretty absurd. Also the Threaded Cane is the weapon I beat the game with my first time so I would hardly call it a piece of shit. It is quite hard to use though. If you have the DLC you may want to rush to the Beasthunter Saif. Or give the Reiterpallasch, Rifle Spear, or Saw Spear a go.

  8. My guess is that your character is real but your spouse and child that you will inevitably find (You can customize the faces of both the male and female PCs at the start and I think they said this would influence the way your child looks at E3 so that has to come up somehow) will turn out to be synths. Because in much the same way that no man is a feminist until they have a daughter/wife/sister/mom/grandmother/aunt no one is cool with androids until they have a spouse/child that is one.

Ok that's a bit snarky but I don't come to Bethesda games for the mainplot so I'm really not concerned for the most part. I'm more bored by the fact it's going to be yet another racial parable that doesn't really want to talk about actual races because that's hard.

  9. I've played about four or so hours and my thoughts so far are: This is a game best played with other people for sure. Easy mode is pretty doable with bots but on anything higher the bots just can't keep up. It's still fun on easy, but if you don't want to play with randos I wouldn't recommend you pick it up without a group to play with.

I'm pretty ok with the melee focus. It's really only for trash mobs and while it feels as bad as every first person game it doesn't bother me any more then the bland shooting in Left 4 Dead where you just sort of aim for for the head with your pistol until a special zombie shows. Its not better, but its not any worse.

I don't think the loot will really hold you back from anything but the highest difficulties. For the most part it's really just incremental upgrades and various weapon archetypes, so the higher tiers are slightly better versions, noticeable, but not quite game changing. At least that I've seen, that could change.

As for the difficulty it seems fine but it's hard to tell with just bots so I can't really comment. Which is fine as comment sections are always the worst. (Ba Dum Tish)

This really is Left 4 Dead but with rats. I think it's a little better, but in ways that I think you would expect given how long it's been since Left 4 Dead 2 came out. Everything from the special Rats to the way you find medpacks and ammo is straight out of Left 4 Dead. If Valve wanted to sue I think they might have a case. I don't think they will, and I do think the game is different enough, but if you don't like L4D this will not change your mind.

Overall I think it's well worth checking out but I wouldn't blame anyone for waiting for the first sale. I think this game will really shine if people start getting weekly games going on the weekend. Matches are short enough for it and that's where L4D really shined as well. It would be to easy to burn pout I think if you made this your daily game in the same way you might a Fallout 4 or Metal Gear V. It's best in short bursts I think.
