"So company's are going to start beaming ads directly into my cyber eyes and there's no way I can stop or ignore them like some sort of cyber punk dysopia? AWESOME!"
  2. Life

Me getting lasik or bionic eyes would be like chopping off a foot because of an ingrown toe nail. Would be a bit overkill for me. Now if you could get me some bionic ears to fix my tinnitus I'm in.
  3. Life

Just had to send my first ever pair glasses in for the second time in a month. :/ The first pair was straight up chipped and the second pair had a rough edge that while not super noticeable I was worried that it was just going to get worse as it wore in til it was a problem. My vision is okay with out them but it takes five to seven days to get them back in and it's just a pain.
  4. PL4YST4TION 4

I think I'm okay with it if it takes the place of the slim model. But I'm really not big on the upgrade every two years model. I bite the bullet with graphics cards but when it starts applying to consoles I wonder if I really need to play Bloodborne 2 and The Last Of Us: Even Less Of Us.
  5. PL4YST4TION 4

New rumors of a PS4.5 have sprung up: http://kotaku.com/sources-sony-is-working-on-a-ps4-5-1765723053 Not sure how I feel about it myself but it does feel a bit counter to the whole "I'm going to buy a box I only have to upgrade every six years instead of a PC" thing.
  6. Android Games

The closest I came to that sort of thing was I played gems of war for a bit. I actually really dug it but the way all the women were presented really turned me off of it.
  7. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

Skyward Sword is the only Zelda game (aside from the obvious) that I would call bad. It has a few great moments but most of it is just such a slog. Probably doesn't help that that was the first Zelda after I had played one of the souls games though.
  8. The new game from Ska Studios has come out on PS4 (PC and Vita coming this summer) and is getting pretty good reviews. Bullet points include: -It's basically a 2D souls game -It plays well -it's not just a Souls ripoff -I ran out of space for the joke in the title and decided it was funnier that way and left it That's all I got. I haven't played it yet what do you want? ;P
  9. Not really? At times it feels like one of those Chinese theme parks based on World Of Warcraft. Like all the serial numbers are filed off but just barely. The biggest differences aside from the perspective are the places where they don't live p to From's standards. Mostly in the art department. I will say that when people say it's not just a souls ripoff I think what they mean is it's not a cash grab. It's a very earnest attempt.
  10. Grim Dawn

Nope no WASD. It's a classic point and click Diablo clone. It does have rudimentary controller support though.
  11. I've played about an hour and so far it's a game of almost. It's almost just Dark Souls in 2D. It almost plays really well. It almost makes sense. It's skill tree is almost lifted out of FFX. It almost isn't kind of ugly. All and all it seems pretty solid and I can see it getting a lot better as I get used to the systems more. I would say it's well worth checking out.
  12. Just some time this summer as far as I can tell. I don't think Ska Studios has a lot of PC dev experience so who knows.
  13. Grim Dawn

If you're looking for reasons to murder things with particle effects then yeah this is totally not the game you want. I agree there. But for me I've never had the problems you seem to be having with the combat. Everything dies fast enough and I always have time to dodge anything coming at me DOOM style. I don't doubt that you have those issues, it's just that listing to others talk about this game I feel like I'm playing a different game. Which is fine! Just weird.
  14. Grim Dawn

I'm surprised to hear that so many people are so down on this. It might be my pick for best of the genre honestly. It just feels good. I love the skill system and how cohesive it is. Everything feeds into everything else so wonderfully. It's a game of finding the best way you can to pump up your plus whatever damage to such an absurd degree that you just melt everything by looking at it and I love it. I even like how it looks. It's got a nice mix of the grimness of Diablo 2 and the colors of Torchlight 2. Some of the effects could use a bit more polish but otherwise I really dig it. It evens runs pretty dang well for me at 4K.
  15. "Cars sucks." - A Pixar Thread

Okay After giving up on Itunes I rented Monsters Inc on Amazon and I'm now ready to give my thoughts on it: It was okay. Oh should I say more? *Sigh* Fine. The movie overall is cute and has a few good gags but like A Bug's Life never really gels in any meaningful way. The idea of a society of monsters is a fun one that they never do anything with. And also what was the point of setting up the monsters not being super scary, presumably so as to make the movie kid friendly, and then having the villain plot to kidnap children and attach them to a torture device to suck the screams out of them? I get you don't want to make it too scary for young kids and I get the feeling this movie was aimed a little younger then most Pixar films, so by all means tone it down. But then why the torture plot? It's not a deal breaker. But it's just adds to the slapdash feel of the whole thing. So is it better then Zootopia? Well, it's less prone to iffy race metaphors, but no. It is not better then Zootopia.
  16. Fallout 4 — Boston Makes Me Feel Good

There is actully a build you're own vault mod that you can see in this video: Looks a bit rough and not quite what you seem to be looking for Cordeos but I thought I'd point it out. Oh and sorry if that youtuber is awful in ways I don't know about, it's hard to keep track these days.
  17. 3D Modeling

I've been fiddling with Sculptris again and I reached a point with this where it's not *Quite* where I want it to be but I'm mostly happy with it as a thing I did for three hours on a lark: Never could get the ears right.
  18. The Next President

At this point it sometimes feels like malevolent robots might be an improvement.
  19. "Cars sucks." - A Pixar Thread

In honor of Disney's latest film I thought I would introduce the "Is It Better Then Zootopia?" Metric and will now apply it to the movies I have seen so far: Toy Story: No A Bug's Life: Hahah. No Toy Story 2: Sort of close, but no Okay it seems to be working so far. Good. Stay tuned this weekend when I apply it to Monsters Inc and Finding Nemo once I get my stupid Apple TV to load my rental of Monsters Inc after failing to for two weeks straight.
  20. Online Tabletop Role-Playing Extravaganza

PC Gamer just posted an article on the best software for playing D&D if anyone wants to give that a look: http://www.pcgamer.com/how-to-play-dd-on-pc-a-primer-on-popular-virtual-tabletops/
  21. Online Tabletop Role-Playing Extravaganza

I can't say I'd be super interesting in buying Tabletop simulator to play Pathfinder myself. I feel like the time spent learning to use that would be better spent in Roll20.
  22. Hunter: A Chronicles of Darkness Game of Thumbs

Are we going to finish this last game still? I'd be down for but if nobody else wants to I can go set up family movie night.
  23. Hunter: A Chronicles of Darkness Game of Thumbs

So honestly I would love to continue playing in this game! But it sounds like what what you want is a bit more then I can give right now. I'm not in a super stable place right now as far as my life goes and I just don't think I can guarantee the commitment this campaign calls for. Not that anyone really can but me even less so then others. Which is a shame as I really like what you're going for and I wish I was in a place I could do it! But I don't want to hold you back form you want out of this, because frankly it sounds cool and I'd rather watch from afar then hold it back. But it looks like I may be better off with a more casual D&D or Pathfinder game for now. Which is a bummer as I really liked this character, but maybe I can re-use him later.
  24. I might end up on PS4 as well. The PC version will get cheaper faster if I want to switchand I'd rather play with a controller and while I'm sure you can do that on PC I feel like for PVP it would put me at a disadvantage. I wish I know where the rest of the PS4 Destiny people will be playing though.
  25. I'm going to hold off a day or two and see both how the port is and how people feel about the game. People thought the beta was pretty good but this ain't Dark Souls so I'm not putting money down with out some sort of second opinion.
