  1. Her Story

This game. SO GOOD. There are at least 3 scenarios that I can imagine to explain what happened. So good.
  2. Well, they got stuck into a very rigid structure for the Bombcast, where they will always have a bit of chit-chat, a round table with everyone talking about what they've played (that always go off-topic), then news, then almost an hour of e-mails. Anything to change that or hurry things up just wouldn't work. Exactly as Ewan, I listen to it at work and stop paying attention altogether when it's not being interesting.
  3. UK Thumbs

I'd love some advice on interesting things do to/nice places to drink and eat in the following places: - Bristol - Falmouth - Exeter - Southampton - Brighton - Dover - Cambridge - York - Newcastle - Carlisle - Manchester thanks in advance!
  4. Fallout 4 — Boston Makes Me Feel Good

I liked the idea of VATS and, as someone who never plays FPSs, used it a lot, but it never worked very well. As mentioned, it was terrible at low levels (to the extent where I, someone who's terrible at shooters, preferred not to use it because it was still easier to kill things by shooting at them myself) and it became way overpowered on late game, where combat became a matter of getting your VATS shots -> hiding to recover AP -> getting more VATS shots. I would not want Fallout to go full FPS in terms of combat, but a significant reworking of VATS is definitely something they should do.
  5. Show me your desk/gaming space

My studio is about half the size of that room. That's amazing.
  6. XCOM 2

I want this in my life. Right now.
  7. I don't know the guy, but I've just gone through his Top 10 games of 2014 on GB and... it's pretty good? I'm excited.
  8. Life

I'm halfway through mine, in a weird hybrid of Theoretical Physics and Molecular Biology. I'm leaning more and more towards going back to industry when I finish this. The prospect of further 10 years on temporary contracts and only having a "proper" job when I'm 40 doesn't sound very inviting right now.
  9. Post your face!

I should probably read this. One of my research interests is actually in the formation of pelotons in competitive cycling, and in general it's not that different from schooling of flocking.
  10. Backlog Busters

This evening I started playing a came named Mass Effect.
  11. Post your face!

I am aware of its existence, but my experience with MD in general is fairly limited. My project is a bit more abstract than molecular simulations, and at a larger scale.
  12. Post your face!

I know literally nothing about it, the poster is from a friend. (mine is right next to it and is about statistical mechanics and biophysics.)
  13. Post your face!

That's me looking vaguely pensive in front of a poster about NMR Crystallography (don't ask):
  14. True Pigeon Love: Hatoful Boyfriend

My only contact with this game was through this wonderful let's play from when let's plays were still screenshot-based and confined to forums: http://www.quartertothree.com/game-talk/showthread.php?67529-Hatoful-Boyfriend-A-dating-game-about-pigeons I cannot recommend it enough.
  15. Show me your desk/gaming space

    Simple but effective.

Can I ask for political asylum in Scotland?
  17. UK Thumbs

I'm already finding it messed up that, besides paying taxes on my salary, I'll need to pay some hundreds of pounds when I need to renew my visa under the guise of a "NHS Surcharge", even if I'm one of the "good" immigrants (highly skilled, employed, with a sponsored visa).
  18. UK Thumbs

There is literally nothing wrong with Lidl. (but to be fair I've never been there in the UK)

Brazilian citizen, so I can't vote for anything. But seriously, people, go vote. Even if your vote is "useless", even if it makes no difference. Go there. The whole "no point in voting" discourse only helps those who always win.
  20. I just wish that Jeff et al. were more vocal about the opinions they obviously hold w.r.t. GG and that ugly side of "gamer culture" (whatever that means). I understand that they need the money and the audience, but there are still a lot of shitty people inside the GB community and I think a part of that comes down to the staff being a bit elusive whenever something vaguely political pops up. Seeing how easily Jeff puts the anti-GG point across in a very lucid way makes me feel really frustrated that he hasn't said much about it.
  21. so it's "let's complain about Dan being dumb" time again! https://twitter.com/DanRyckert/status/584827967458512896
