  1. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

Oh no. You still have a good 15 main missions in front of you (most of which are modified versions of previous ones, those you don't need to do (I haven't done any of those)). But there's at least 10h of unavoidable stuff to be done after the big battle you're referring to if you want to get the truest of endings.
  2. The Witness by Jonathan Blow

Yep, I just stashed a block of square paper from work into my backpack to use later.
  3. The Witness by Jonathan Blow

I played it for a couple of hours yesterday, completed 67 puzzles. There were already a couple of them where I got that warm feeling after solving and many where I don't even know what's going on. Stopped when I got a bit frustrated with a clever perspective puzzle, I was 100% sure I had the right answer for it but it turned out to be wrong. Went through 2 pages of my notebook already with drawings, diagrams and notes for things that I want to remember later. The game is gorgeous and I think I'll spend a lot of time with it.
  4. It looks to me vaguely like Hulk Hogan and Leslie Nielsen at the same time, somehow, but I don't know if it's a direct reference to something.
  5. I will just say you should listen to the Beastcast this week. Early on Vinny consolidates his position as the king of dad jokes and then it gets better.
  6. wrong thread

    edit: oh, ok.
  7. What irks me about Brad is that, once in a while, he will articulate his position well and you can see he's a really clever guy who's able to give real insight into the games he likes/hates, but most of the time he seems too lazy to bother articulating things properly. That being said, I think Austin Walker might be my favourite person in the world. The reaction video to Dan eating Taco Bell is where I came to that conclusion. He's at Jeff levels of comedic acting.
  8. GOTY videos are great as always. I would genuinely subscribe to ASMR with AXNR. (also, Jeff is certainly doing a grocery haul video and it's going to be the best moment of the year)
  9. Life

It was back in a previous life when I was an engineer, so I did most of the Communications Technology M.Sc. at Uni Ulm before dropping out. The student population is quite big (with Uni Ulm, Hochschule Ulm and Hochschule Neu-Ulm around), so there's plenty of bars, restaurants and parties around if that's your kind of thing. It's also pretty close to Stuttgart and Munich in case you feel like going to a bigger city and/or flying somewhere else. The Alps and the Black Forest are pretty close by as well.
  10. Life

I've lived in Ulm (as an exchange and M.Sc. student) for a year and a half! it's a lovely place. Let me know if you need any city-specific info, I'll be glad to be of any help.
  11. This forum is weird (Look a new topic!)

You need 10^6 posts before it's a megathread. drumroll
  12. Winter Wizard Jam Idea Book!

Football Manager Manager, a game where you manage someone's time so that they can play as much Football Manager as they can.
  13. Winter Wizard Jam Team Building Thread

Hey! I have fairly limited free time and absolutely no experience with game making. With that out of the way, I'm pretty good at pretty much any programming language you can throw my way and I think I learn relatively quickly. My strong points are Python and C (not C++, not C#, none of this fancy stuff), but programming is programming. I would love to join someone else's project! My twitter handle is the same as my username. I'm on GMT and spend a fair amount of time at the Idle Thumbs Readers Slack channel, so it's easy to find me there.
  14. This forum is weird (Look a new topic!)

The only other forum I visit regularly has a thread with 1400 pages (that's after everything was wiped out about 18 months ago). It's also very clique-ish and probably not overly welcoming to new people. Still, that's the only kind of forum I'm willing to post on nowadays, I think. I'm also new here and I understand the feeling of alienation, but I think it's worth sticking with it!
  15. Fallout 4 — Boston Makes Me Feel Good

Yep, I'm barely 10 hours into the game and I just got my second set. I'm not even looking for those things, they just show up. I've been unlucky with my legendaries up to now - one melee weapon that I'll never use, a laser musket (fuck those) and a laser rifle that might become my go-to weapon if I can find enough fusion cells.
  16. Fallout 4 — Boston Makes Me Feel Good

From the GB quick look it looked like a new coat of paint on a fundamentally very old and tired game. But also something I really want. Downloading it as we speak!
  17. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

53214 is correct, as mentioned I'm done with this game. As much as I enjoyed it, getting rid of it made me feel free.
  18. Is anyone else into Alt+F1? I'm looking forward to the train wreck of a podcast they're putting out this week, where Danny and Dan (!!!) will discuss the great US GP and the upcoming Mexican GP.
  19. Life

It was a free contract negotiated between a free employer and a free employee, where there was absolutely no degree of coercion involved, I bet.
  20. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

I've found the ending to be terrible. A twist that you could definitely see coming from miles away and a bunch of stuff half-resolved (which is even worse than unresolved). I still think it's one of my favourite games ever just because it plays so damn well, but imagining what this game could have been is driving me insane.
  21. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

I have finally finished mission 31. Yay me! Just 50 hours to go!
