Yeah, I am inclined to agree with you re: Tarantino's indulgences leaning less towards the sexual, and more to the gore/race side of the equation. The first thing that popped into my mind when they mentioned Tarantino on the podcast was the Dead N***er Storage scene in Pulp Fiction. And of course you can cite any number of violent/gory sequences in any of his films.
