  1. New people: Read this, say hi.

Ah! Son of a bitch I am so message board challenged. I don't know how to properly quote something:/ I wanted to say that your job sounds really interesting! I am a furniture nerd and love home decor in general. If you don't mind me asking-what kind of work do you do/who are your clients. Right now I am loving fabric by maharam and, especially, house of hackney. Anyways your job sounds really interesting!

Ahh! I am so dense! I haven't used a message board since...actually I have really never used a message board:/ completely skipped that part of the internet experience until now. So I apologize-I don't know how to 'quote.'' Wanted to thank you merus-I am loving the 'mad as hell' clip! Really want to see 'the castle' too-everything I have read about the film seems like it would be something I'd enjoy. By any chance have you seen 'strangers with candy?' It's one of my all time favorites (the tv show-the movie was a stinker)...jerri blank is such a genius character. So high concept and bizarre. It was also one of Stephen Colbert's early projects. Haven't heard from him much after though. I thought he was a real talent:)

While I enjoy sic-fi I generally watch either comedy or, on the other end of the spectrum, really depressing stuff. For comedy, though there are a few incredible Australian shows on iTunes that I haven't heard much about in terms of buzz etc. 'Please like me' is such a surprising, piss your pants funny comedy. It deals with 'tough' topics with a really light touch. It can get dark, but it doesn't feel like it's for shock value. 'Kath and kim' is another incredible Aussie show-a really sweet, strange, funny as hell show that is worth taking a look at. My fav u.s. comedies right now are 'broad city' and 'veep' fucking love these shows!

I keep reading and hearing about dota2 and I'm interested in watching/maybe playing?! Are there any good sources of shorthand to understanding this game? Provably a dumb question, but the more I read and hear about it the more confused I become:/
  5. Dealing with Someone Else's Alcholism

I'm sorry to hear this. This is an incredibly tough situation. Just make sure to take care of yourself first and foremost. You won't be able to help much if you are anxious/stressed/being put in mentally or physically abusive situations. Above all, you need to not be sucked into his drama/feeling bad for him excessively. I have been in therapy on and off for the past 10 years or so. It has been a lifesaver. Beyond suggesting therapy/support groups etc there is little you can do. I hope your friend gets some help and starts healing. It's a shitty situation and I feel for you. You sound like a caring person-he is lucky to have you as a roommate and friend.

Hey Clyde-I completely fell off after ps1, not sure why. Probably just being super busy in college? I just kind of hit a hard stop. A few years ago I started listening to 'indoor kids'. They talked skyrim to death and I really wanted to play. I think I shit my pants at the graphics-no more Lara croft cone boobs, and the mature stories etc. Such a huge leap from ps1 to xbox360. A big leap between even the original wii and xbox (wii was used as a large dusty coaster at my boyfriends house:) Right now, I have a ps4 now which I love...i would like a computer system, but I feel intimidated by all of the choices in hardware/wouldn't know where to start. I have been using macs for maybe 20 years...just feel out of the loop with PCs in general.

Hello! I recently rediscovered gaming again. For the very first time. I am a long term survivor of I.b.s. Which puts me at odds with video games that have any sort of intensity. A change of pants is always nearby! I've been listening to 'idle thumbs' for the past 6 months-and love the discussion. I'm a professional artist and I get inspired hearing about others' personal creative processes/struggles etc. I'm proud to say I was a grade school regional science fair winner with my nes Mario experiment. I was a winner until I lost at state. That sums it up:)
