  1. Destiny

So, fun thing, I've got my Titan at 293-5 right now with items that can max INT for Nonstop Bubble Action if I choose to do so. I can roll Defender if we need that, but I'm also working on leveling up my Hunter; currently at 280-ish, and I'm confident I can get that to 290-300 before the end of the week. I've got both Celestial Nighthawk and Crest of Alpha Lupi, Jon advised the former, and fast res is always good. I'll also need to hustle on maxing Nightstalker, but that shouldn't be too hard if I carry on with the Current Plan (grind CoO for a billion hours). I've got what I understand to be all the Necessary Perks anyways (Void Anchor, Vanish In Smoke, Light of the Pack), but it'll be nice to cap that. I can also roll Sunsinger Warlock, but that's another set of armor to level, and it seems like we have enough of those. Anyways, who wants to play Court of Oryx for an interminable number of hours tonight?
  2. Destiny

I figured we'd probably put together a best-of video a la the Crota one you did way back when. We'll have to figure out how to get voices to record this time, though. I'm still sad I can't relive Tequila Jon, the Crux Squeal, or all the toothbrush jokes. Edit: Also, it could be nice to just have an archive of the full thing. Will Twitch let you archive footage if you are a non-paying bottom-feeder?
  3. Destiny

Was planning on running Bubble Bro. I've got Crest of Alpha Lupi as my exotic currently, since Normal Mode should still allow rez. If not, I can invest in Good Ol' St. 14 (I've got the marks on standby).
  4. Destiny

Congrats! I'm excited for tomorrow; even though I think not all of us will be at 290, as long as we hit 280 we should be able to do the first chunk of the raid, and the idea of doing any chunk blind remains very appealing to me. I did Crota and VoG with y'all a bit late to the game, and I'm excited to do King's Fall "on time."
  5. Destiny

Bonus round: most of said majors are light on the HP, and there are three death checkpoints that you can use if necessary to spawn over and over. Dying doesn't reset the "do the dumb task" part of the quest, you just have to finish the strike. Also, the hotfix today also provided the much-speculated nerf to Three of Coins, and it's... pretty good? Take it away, Bungie! Seems good to me! Gives more incentive to run the strike playlist for all sorts of loot, and means I'll familiarize myself with some strikes that I most assuredly have ignored (see: Undying Mind last night, which I had never touched before).
  6. Destiny

Well, latest news is that it was dropping at 20 points higher than it was supposed to, so it'll drop at 290 next time, and kiosk version is going down from 300 to 280. Still a sweet gun, though!
  7. Destiny

Uh so, who wants to do this tonight?
  8. Destiny

Guess it's time to farm for them stolen runes!
  9. Destiny

Here it is! I've set up for the Heroic List, but we can drop down to regular if people want (edit: dropped down for peak farming, but we can bump for quests). If tomorrow is too soon, I'd be happy to push to Thursday/Friday. Saturday is still tentative raid day if all six of us can get to 290. I'm at 281 right now, so I'm making (I hope) good time.

Couple of Fun Things I've noticed (some of which may be Common Knowledge from Reddit at this point, but not sure). Under spoilers in case anyone is still trying to Go It Alone/without internet help. I'm probably going to put up a game on the100 for helping each other with some of the dumb final steps for the class quests (3 7-Orb Fists of Havoc). Maybe we'll go streaking!
  11. Destiny

It's definitely Day One whining, though.
  12. Destiny

    So uh (Exotic Quest Spoilers)

  14. Destiny

I'm still knee deep in the MGSV trenches, but I'll be booting up Destiny tonight/this afternoon to check some of the updates. Pretty excited to see what the Exotic Wall shows.
  15. Destiny

I have to drop from Skolas tomorrow due to Real World Garbage getting in the way, so anyone who's willing to get in on that should do so!
  16. Destiny

The other Big Takeaway from the Weekly Update is that it's confirmed that 2.0 drops on September 8th. It'll be interesting to see exactly what's enabled and what's not.
  17. Destiny

I left a video on in the background (so sound only) of the new Strike to get a feel for Nolandroid's dialogue on a greater scale. It's pretty good! I like it a lot, but I continue to stick with everyone's idea that Dinklebot should be some sort of Y1 reward Ghost Shell. Fillion is doing an exceptional amount of voice work too, and I think Bungie has officially stopped pretending and gone "look just be Mal okay"
  18. Destiny

I have joined up, but am happy to leave the event for someone who doesn't have the win yet. Just let me know!
  19. Destiny

Yeah, I'm interested in if they address Artifacts, since they didn't last stream. But I absolutely want no info on the Dreadnought, I want to explore that for myself.
  20. Destiny

Now I feel like a dingus for not reading clearly enough. And if I recall correctly, they won't be usable for Infusion, either, since you need to use a higher/equivalent level item for that. My goof! Jon's advice is super solid though; any legendary engrams will probably dismantle to Year 2 guns/gear when TTK drops, so it's best to keep those around and not decrypt them.
  21. Destiny

I got my internet hooked back up this weekend, and realized A Thing. Bungie has made a big point out of "don't dismantle your guns." I'm gonna change that to "don't dismantle *any* legendaries unless you're capped." If they do in fact shard into Legendary Marks, that's quick marks right out of the gate, which in turn means Sweet Guns to replace all the One/One's hoarding your vault space. I used to do the old "grind up the blues for parts" thing, but I've started sharding all of them immediately to make room for any purples that appear (I'm finishing the Bad Juju and Invective bounties right now, so I'm spending a lot of time in the Crucible, and getting a lot of purples as a result).
  22. Destiny

I mean in theory they would in Trials/Iron Banner, but it would probably still be Dumb to use a rocket launcher that doesn't have Grenades and Horseshoes. Speaking of, I really want to see how "nerfed" that perk is, because it's effectively a requirement at this point. As for exotics, I think it's a safe bet to assume they'll all be brought over eventually. The raid weapons are obviously the biggest question here, and everyone is playing the "WELL WHAT'S THE POINT OF THE RAIDS IF THEY STAY YEAR 1 BUNGIE PLS" card, but I think the point remains that they're *fun*, and I think it would still be a blast running "raid weapons only/Y1 level only" runs with new players who are coming in with TTK. Or in general! I've enjoyed all the raids I've done with Thumbs Folk, even if it's not some flawlessly executed montage-worthy masterpiece.
  23. Destiny

Hey, here's a thought. How do we want to handle *spoilers* for the next couple of weeks? I know some people are trying to avoid any details about TTK so they can experience it blind, do we want to tag all livestream reveals with spoilers? Just plot? I just realized this since we're 20 minutes out from the first new deluge of info. I assume we'll run spoiler tags on the plot of TTK itself when it comes out for a week or two, but I could be wrong there. I am unfamiliar with the policy around these parts.
  24. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

Can you imagine if there was a clan system in place for FOBs? Share resources/upgrades with allies, get the option to defend other bases in case your clanmate is indisposed, send distress signals if you are overwhelmed by an invader on your base, etc. Man, now I just want FOBs as a separate game altogether. It's such a cool concept, and I can't wait to tinker with it.
  25. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

That said, after seeing that Gamescom trailer for the first time, I realized they could have just released the Mother Base concept as another stand-alone game like Ground Zeroes and I would pay $60 for that easy. The whole GMP/Mother Base concept is one of the most ambitious things I think Kojima has ever done, and if it works as well as it looks I can easily see myself running three or four base invasions/defenses an evening before I get pieces of shit for my inventory. Except, you know, I will use the money from bases to get Every Tranq Option as a piece of shit for my inventory so I can try to no-kill my way through MGSV
