I think we had a really solid team throughout the whole raid; the fact that we made it up to our prior checkpoint in only two hours (give/take with breaks) is really good. Last time I think we spent two hours on the first encounter alone.

Crota Today Episode 2 is Live! These are unedited and solely from my POV, so there are a couple extended group breaks and other times where I am just flipping through menus, etc. Also a pizza arrives.

I still think [iDLE] should be the tag, simply because I don't think we can do an equal four-letter for Crota Today (CRTD? CTDY?). I'd be all in on "Crota Today" or something similar being the clan name, though.

Bungie Clan is here. The PSN community thing is new, wonky, and weird. I'm trying to figure out how to make it easily discoverable without opening it up to Literally Everyone, but I think you can be added by any friend of yours on PSN who's in the clan already.

Set up an event tonight for various parts of the Sleeper quest. First Firewall->daily reset wait for anyone who needs that, and then the SABER strike for anyone who's at that point (me, spork, ???). I want to run one final test for the Twitch Stream tomorrow (audio, etc.). Spork Korax and I did the Warsats and Archives last night (I had Archives checkpointed at "Dr. Shim! Security protocol breached!" somehow), and it took about 2 hours. We spawned in on a Warsat on the moon, bummed around earth dejectedly, went to Mars and bummed around and got one, went back to Earf and had the last warsat drop on us in Mothyards immediately. It was a good string of luck. Hopefully we can replicate it!

I changed the clan/community to Crota Today with the subheading as "Idle Thumbs Destiny Squad" for clarity. Suggestions for a photo/background-thing?

First and foremost, you'll want to join our group on the100. It's how we tend to set up most of our joint play sessions. You create an event (for example, I set one up today for "Misc - 3 Person" for the steps of the quest we're all yammering about), and it'll blast the whole group. People can join up, and it'll update people who've signed up to let them know when/if they have a full team. Second, you'll want to add everyone on PSN. Most usernames are in signatures or in the Big Thread over in "Multiplayer Networking." Let people know you're from Thumbs so the request doesn't go in the garbage. I'm considering creating a Community on PSN which should also help streamline any setup. Third, don't be afraid to message people for help on the early missions! The game goes a lot faster and is more fun with friends, and chances are if someone isn't in a fireteam and is just bumming around they'll be happy to help you chew through a few missions. Fourth, have fun! If you ain't havin' fun, it ain't worth playin'.

Apparently completing that strike should drop "Sleeper Simulant Weapon Frame" which you then turn in for Gjallarhorn 2.0. TIME TO HUSTLE TODAY. Edit: threw up a 3-person on the100 for anyone who wants to run the rest of the Sleeper quest post-Shadow Call. That's Patrol Nonsense, Archive, and said 42 SABER Strike. I will stay up as late as necessary to get this thing. Bonus points if anyone else needs to run the Exotic Sword quest!

I've got other plans tonight, so if I have the mission unlocked I'll probably knock it out via Remote Play during my lunch break (have I mentioned that having a Vita is amazing? y'all should get a Vita). IIRC the other guy was DRM's friend from Gamers With Jobs, and by "IIRC" I mean "that's who it was, because I remember details like that, and not the fastest way to get to the office."

I'm in favor of this. Do we want to roll same class configurations, or mix it up?

I hate to double post, but the Sleeper Simulant quest just got unlocked, and this is SUPER HUGE. It's a bummer it was just outright time-gated as opposed to something else, although I guess "collect the four fusion rifles" sort of counts. It just shows up as a story mission on Earth. The full Reddit post is here if you want Spoilers, and given how got-dang complex it is, I wouldn't blame anyone for doing so.

Hey y'all, today's Daily Heroic Story/Mission has a Secret Bonus area attached. Seeing as I 1) lust for grimoire, and 2) need to test Twitch streaming before the weekend, I just threw an event up on the100 to do both. I would not be opposed to running it more than once if people want to group up in teams of three for it; the more Twitch Testing I can get in, the better! Edit: Speculation on the Destiny subreddit is that this will start the chain that leads to the No Time To Explain exotic, so now I am *even more pumped*

I mean, I also do not have Columbus Day off, but I would have been willing to put in PTO to get this sucker done if everyone else was Free. POWER THROUGH it is, sorry everyone

So as it turns out, one of my buddies is getting hitched at the end of the month, and the Bachelor Party is Sunday at 5:00PM, just in time to ruin EVERYTHING. Monday is Columbus/Genocide (take your pick) Day in the States, and most people have it off. How does that pan out for everyone here? Does everyone have that as a holiday? Alternately, are people willing to just power through this on Saturday? I am sorry to be the New Wrinkle, seems like every weekend something happens for one of us

Raid resets on Tuesday, I think? Either way, both of those work. If we do Saturday, we might want to do it in two chunks so that we can take a break in the middle for lunch/dinner/not getting doghoused by roommates or significant others/whatever. Yeah I would like to apologize for any aggression it seemed like I was exuding during that first encounter. I wasn't angry at anyone in the group, moreso just that Anyways hopefully this weekend will be Better and I will be less angry after understanding that "pain and suffering" are the core mechanic of the whole raid.

PS4 right now has one exclusive strike and a couple pieces of exclusive armor for each class (denoted on the PS4 by "Sublime Engrams," which is how that came up). There's also one exclusive exotic gun, a Scout Rifle called "Jade Rabbit." It was known in a past life as "Fate of All Fools," and there's some significant frustration that gun that's been alluded to since 1.0 has finally shown up a year later as a PS4 exclusive. The PS4/XONE difference is not nearly as pronounced right now as it was last year, but it'll add up as time goes on. PS4 started 1.0 with two exclusive guns (Hawkmoon and Monte Carlo) and one exclusive strike (Dust Palace). Before 2.0 dropped, the PS4 had three exclusive guns (added The Fourth Horseman), two exclusive strikes (added Undying Mind), and probably some other things I didn't process because I had a PS4. I wouldn't be surprised if the first expansion added another strike/gun, and then again for the second expansion.

This game is absolutely fantastic. I found the quickest way to unlock everything is to throw a bunch of modifiers on; the "fast notes" seem more helpful than a hindrance, and "random directions" seems to not mean anything? Between those two modifiers and the Tatsuhime Charm unlockable, I'm pulling in about $48,000 per hard mode track with a "Brilliant" rating. It's $53,000 on the first clear, which also dings a medal for "make more than $50k on one song." I'm going through story mode with my roommates, but I shredded through Free Dance this weekend. I will say that running through Free Dance means you hit a few Story Spoilers, but unlocking just about every costume/accessory that the game will allow is Worth It. I also bought all the DLC, because I am a terrible completionist garbage human, but the "Stage Outfit" DLC in particular is stellar across the board. I think Yukiko, Kanji, and Yu probably have the best/most fitting ones. The game's insistence on NAOTO IS CISFEMALE AND NEVER HAD IDENTITY QUESTIONS NUH-UH is a little frustrating, but that's largely Golden's fault, so I can't blame a giant piece of fanservice that much.

So U2 is the second band ever to have two songs on a Full Rock Band disc (Lego Rock Band had Queen, and LRB absolutely counts). It's one heck of a get, and I imagine the Big Honkin' U2 Pack will be out by Christmas. I've never been so devasted over pre-order/temporary console exclusives as I am about Babymetal and Weird Al. The PS4 got "The Reflex," which is choice, but I would happily trade everything else for BABYMETAL, Earth, Wind & Fire, Interpol, Jefferson Starship, Mastodon, My Morni... you know what, just all of them. All of the Xbox songs. What a phenomenal setlist. Can't wait to spend 6 hours downloading all my previous DLC.
