  1. Ah, thanks. Got the right one now. Looking forward to seeing it tonight. Only watched the finale for the first time last night.
  2. Downloaded this two different times now and on both occasions it's been 1 hr 30 minutes long. It should be over 2 hours right?
  3. This is where I stopped watching last time, not because I didn't like it, in fact I've no idea why I stopped with one to go. I'm silly. Why wouldn't they just stop the pageant?
  4. What the heck does he know!? He only wrote it. Not being sarcy by the way.
  5. Ahh we forgot to play everyone's favourite game, guess the official episode desorption. "Joan has lunch with an old friend, Don is back behind the wheel... Pete gives Peggy a cactus..."
  6. Pretty disappointed we didn't see what Sal was up to... Pretty much loved all of this apart from the Peggy + Stan stuff. It was sweet and Peggy s initial reaction was funny but I just don't buy her reciprocation. Not enough P Diddly either but there never is. I didn't really know what to make of the ending but the person I watched it with offered a similar explanation to argobot. I like that idea much, much more than a triumphant return from a vision quest with one big idea or whatever. Also Meredith's reaction to being made redundant was really great and sweet. Go be an interior designer Meredith! I'm gonna miss this show so much. Off to cry for a bit now.
  7. Books, books, books...

Almost at the end of The Story of a New Name, the second Neapolitan novel of Elena ferrante., I am enjoying it but not as much as My Brilliant Friend(the first one). Went to local book shop today to order the next one! Fortunately I'm a slow reader so the wait til September, when the final one is released, won't be too bad. Edit: Finished it. These books have really surprised me. They aren't like anything I've read before. I really, really, like them. They irritate me, they make me laugh and they make my heart hurt. Thanks to this thread for bringing them to my attention.
  8. I thought the implication was that they ate them too. I need to watch it again.
  9. "If it is a bomb its not metallic and there is no ticking sound" ..."no ticking sound " Truman gets 100% of his bomb knowledge from cartoons by the sound of it.
  10. Don't really know the significance but there seemed to be a lot of stuff about planes this week and the end song was performed by a man who died in a plane crash. Loved the way the Betty stuff was handled after getting over the intial 'a cancer story line right at the end!?" shock. And her letter being read as she struggled to climb the stairs again killed me. So so glad that P Diddly seems to have got his happy ending. Can you imagine if that's the last we see of Don? I'm hoping for a finale entirely devoted to a Peggy and Joan plot to burn down McCaan
  11. Let's play everybody's favourite game! Guess the official episode description, assuming you arrive here before you've listened. "Henry receives some bad news, Pete is offered a job, Don confesses, Sally visits"
  12. Me, when people say they hate Betty https://24.media.tumblr.com/52bcca36f6ba41516b22425a24f247d6/tumblr_n654bf8EaH1qdae4uo1_400.gif
  13. This episode was the best for ages in large part thanks to Gordon Cole. Really funny episode, not always intentionally Laughed through most of James' dopey voice over.
  14. To the fella on the podcast who emailed talking about Ginsberg (if he's a user?). Weiner talked about him in the interview he did with his sister before the season premiere. Basically said he was always insane
  15. Really liked this episode. Now hoping that Tyne whole thing ends with Joan setting fire to the McCann Eriksen offices with everyone inside. Let's try and guess the official ep description. "Peggy and Roger reminisce, Joan has trouble adjusting, Don takes a drive and Betty reads a book."
  16. I'm furious having watched it! FURIOUS
  17. My dad came home while I was watching this one. Watching his face of utter bemusement was a lot more fun that watching the episode. "What is it, what's going on and why!?" "I don't know dad. I don't know... It gets better." "You mean youve watched it before!? And youre watching it again... Why?" ":(" Elders react to twin peaks.
  18. Books, books, books...

I have been reading The Story of a New Name on the bus to work everyday this week. I've also missed my stop everyday this week.
  19. Just caught up and really enjoyed how often the actor who plays Harry used his 'serious, big boy, angry acting voice' this episode.
  20. Books, books, books...

So I finished My Brilliant Friend and... Well...
  21. Books, books, books...

    Happy World Book Day everybody!
  22. I took that goodbye differently. She's exasperated, angry so storms out without saying goodbye. Then he says goodbye, she's upset so takes a moment to compose herself before replying, she feels bad.
  23. This episode was so great, loved it. Joan was definitely being sarcastic with her "I'm gonna send my child away" chat. I thougt she was telling him what she thought he wanted to hear, but in an insincere fuck you kind of way. Think I posted this in another thread but here is the interview mentioned on the podcast
  24. Books, books, books...

Was browsing the bookshop this morning and got talking to one of the lovely lads that works there. He recommended Fourth of July Creek, probably because they had a special on, but I was just wondering if anyone here has read it?
  25. This is nice. Weiner talks about 7 key moments from the entire run. http://www.empireonline.com/features/matthew-weiner-mad-men-secrets
