Has everyone received their gift now? I'm worried about my giftee

Went to my local independent book shop today. It is the last day before it closes down, it's been there since 1913. Sad, been going there since I was little. Everything was reduced to a pound, by the time I got there all the shelves were bare and the only things left were Cliff Notes, a Wife Swap official companion book(hilarious but I resisted the urge) and a pamphlet sized autobiography of some nomark footballer.

A bloody love The Assassination of Jesse James. One of my favourites. Seen unforgiven too. Will definitely check some of these out. The son sounds great Thanks!

I watched Slow West and enjoyed it a fair bit, been on a western kick lately, this, deadwood, might reread blood meridian. Any suggestions for great things with western settings?

The Chicago popcorn mix is great too but I've had to cut the cinnamon toast crunch with cornflakes so it's not unbearably sweet.

I got a massive pile of books for Christmas. Including 3 David Lynch flavoured ones An oral history of twin peaks, the man from another place, Catching the Big fish, death by Video game, Ebert's great movies. Dunno where to start.

I remember at one point someone saying "still think it was a good idea to stop using clones" and he replies "My men are solid, trained from birth" That's the gist anyway. Seeing it again on Tuesday will listen out

Just seen it. Don't have any special connection to star wars, used to watch VHS of the original trilogy when I was little because they had shooting in them but they were Us so I was allowed to watch them. I liked them. Wasnt prepared for the sight of X wings flying across water to make me so happy I nearly stood up and started bellowing "STAR WARS! STAAAR WAAARS!" I rather enjoyed it. Too many stupid "Hey, remember 40 years ago? Hahah! That was good" jokes though. They kind of grated. And C3PO can fuck off too, with or without his big boss arm.

I've gone back... I'm really enjoying it this time round. Just got up to Haven. Favourite so far is To Reach Japan... Or Amundsen. Appreciated/ understood Amundsen a lot more the second time.

Theres another "Screen unseen" event on Monday. I'm excited. You book tickets and you don't know what film you're seeing until the title card comes up. Only thing guaranteed is it will be a film that isn't out yet. Only thing is I booked before I got my current job and unless I get an early finish, I'm gonna miss the first 30 mins In any case I will report back! They do actually release clues to what it is before hand and people try and solve it but I don't see the point in that.
