  1. I love my gifts, they're right up my street. I got BOOKS, lots of BOOKS all based around the theme of American history. A novel about the Vietnam war called Tree of Smoke. Sixguns and society, the history of the western. To Drink or not to drink, a book about prohibition with lots of great classic cocktail recipes. And the memoir of Josephine Earp, wife of Wyatt Earp. I also got napkins, which I have currently fashioned in to a western bandit style neckerchief, and really lovely letter typed up on a typewriter. Thanks so much Rilen.

I watched Ti Xi Qu(West of the tracks) a month or so ago and I still think about it often. It's such a beautiful film, one of the best docunentaries I've seen. It's about Chinese railway and smelting factories and the people who work in them. It's also so long that by the time it's finished youve forgotten what life was like before you started watching it, you've just been existing somewhere else for 9 hours or whatever. The last section focuses on a father and son who scavenge on the railway and it's the saddest thing I've ever seen. It's all on YouTube

I haven't seen many horror films at all and as it's October I've been trying to correct that. I watched The Shout which was pretty fuckin good and Sleepwalker which was a very weird short film. Doing my best to follow along with this http://letterboxd.com/woodfella/list/hundreds-of-dead-bodies/ great podcast talking about a horror film a day for October.
  6. ketchup on pizza

I like salad cream with pizza. Not lovely fresh pizza but shitty frozen cheap ones. It's weird but good. Don't even know what salad cream is tangy liquid fat.

I watched The Assassin and didn't have any idea what was going on but it looked pretty nice. The Monster Squad! Have any of you seen The Monster Squad? Watched it recently and wished I'd seen it when I was young, so great.

I'm still listening to and enjoying The Wonder Of It All which is now weekly. It used to be about films, The Thing, Horror's ending problem, Sacrament, Candy man are all episodes but now it's about anything last week they discussed Garth Ennis and traditional Irish weekly magazine Ireland's Own before that Inspector Morse. The guy is smart and funny and enjoyable to listen to. Give it a listen. . http://thewonderofitall.xyz

Enchilada SAUCE Enchiladas! ENCHILADAS! They don't look great, is it possible to make them look good? They were really nice though. Chicken is the meat and the sauce is my attempt at a mole with chocolate, it was really hot to begin with so I added I little chipped tomato. Happy with it as a first attempt, I just chucked stuff in a blender p much

Got a lot of suitable ingredients left over from the chili so this is perfect. Gonna do a mole!

Heres the finished meal, not pictured "homemade" tortilla chips made by blasting Corn tortillas in the oven for 5 mins

Dibs they look great, especially Britain. Ive made chili I just pulled the ox cheek apart in the pan I made my own paste using dried chilies garlic lime and stuff beforehand so it's not technically one pot I suppose but it's my theme so BACK OFF. Here's a bonus botched carrot cake

Those look great. I just woke up early and got a big old chili on. Will post pictures when it's done in 7 hours time.

My turn to pick the theme believe. I'm choosing One Pot. Anything where you chuck a load of stuff in One Pot. Curries,Stew, soup, chili anything you can think of. I'm probably going to go with a massive hot chili. Hopefully this theme is broad enough for people to do some nice, different stuff.

Was disappointed by this too. Really like take shelter and shotgun stories. Remember laughing out loud at Adam Drivers confused "What the fuck is that shit" face like, "you and me both mate"
  18. The Idle Book Club 18: Runaway

Ooh yay. If I start this now I might actually finish before the episode!

So tedious. Ridiculously long. DiCaprio gets battered to the point it becomes funny, to me anyway. Got some dirty looks when I chortled at him after hed just fallen off a cliff. All the spiritual malarkey can do one too.
  23. Sometimes it would end up as two people fighting and me and another guy watching. At one point 2 guys were fighting and the third guy who i'd just summoned in started attacking me, the two fighting guys immediately stopped what they were doing and ran to my aid. We destroyed him, triple teamed him. BEST! Gave them both some humanity as thanks.
  24. Played this for about 30 hours now over 4 days. It's definitely Dark Souls! But I'm playing the Japanese version so everything a doubly incomprehensible. Only bit I haven't liked so far was a boss which reminded me of the worst of DS2. Most enjoyment I've had so far is hosting my very own dark Souls fight club. I summon 2 enemy players in to my world and watch them fight while doing funny gestures on the side lines. I give the victor a prize, some humanity or weapon buffs then a summon another fella in for him to fight. One guy beat about 10 dudes in a row then disconnected. Then another guy won loads in a row. Then they finally, inevitably met and it was AMAZING. I gave the victor a prize befitting a true champion and then jumped off the edge. Smashin.
