  1. Also are we sure that woman with coffee is just the box watchers girlfriend? Seemed suspicious to me, like desperate to get in there, even trying to look at the code and stuff. When is the scene with the guy in Vegas? Could she be the woman who's "got the job"? Like someone, maybe doppeldale is trying to find out whats going on in there.
  2. I always thought that too. Doesn't one appear to Sarah when Maddie dies?
  3. The Episode is up! Really nice to hear these nice boys talk about this show again and that opening sting
  4. I agree it looked a bit rough or not quite right but I kinda liked that stuff. Like Laura screening and shaking and then flying off like a balloon letting out air and Cooper falling through dimensions or whatever the heck was happening.
  5. "James has has always been cool" ... ...😐 Fully on board with this. Loved how it wasn't a complete call back fest but enjoyed the little appearances of Andy, Lucy, Ben and Jerry. Didn't really like the weird science experiment with the black mist from lost but. A lot of the scenes from the black lodge were really good! Seeing Catherine Coulson as Margaret was really sad, that was a really great bit between her and old man hawk. Anyone else start blubbing when he said "Goodnight Margaret" ? Resisting the temptation to watch all 4 available immediately.
  6. One of the crew members is called Tennessee and he wears a cowboy hat all the time...
  7. Blade Runner 2049

I do not have high hopes. I liked the very first teaser but that trailer with Jared Letos stupid face in it puts me off.
  8. I am wholeheartedly looking forward to the return of the podcast but I am trepidatious about the series. It's going to be bonkers! And I am looking forward to Chris saying that it's "Bonkers" and that he's "Flabbergasted". Finished a rewatch the other day and I've been avoiding stuff about the new one. I'm ready!
  9. Has anyone seen the new Alien yet? It's bad.

Has there ever been an Idle Movie Club? Thought it might be a fun thing to do. Like, take it in turns to pick one and all watch and discuss it.
  11. Movie/TV recommendations

Hello friends. I would like to encourage you all to watch the 1997 film Cure by Kiyoshi Kurosawa. It's my favourite film I've seen this year. It's slow and eerie and uncomfortable. If you've not seen it go in knowing as little as possible. Been in a bit of a funk with movies lately but this blasted me out of it. Amazing film.
  12. Ranking the Harry Potter Series

Man this is hard. Mostly because I have trouble remembering which is which, they all sorta blend together. I read the first book when I was in primary school and didn't like it. 3 would be at the top, 2 and 1 at the bottom. Three pals go camping together is alright too. I remember going to see the 5th(?) one with a bunch of school pals and I thought it was fuckin shite and they all got the hump with me because they were pretty much one step away from going to the cinema in a cloak and hat. So that's way down there too. I remember quite liking the bits with the Snape flash backs. Ranking Azgaban( the good one) Goblet ( Everyone suddenly has shit hair for some reason ) Last one part 1 Last one part 2 The Other one Phoenix Philosopher's stone Secrets ( "Of course phoenix tears have healing powers")
  13. Twin Peaks Discussion

I have but I have very little memory of it. I'll get to it after I finish the series again. The stuff I'm not that keen on though is
  14. Twin Peaks Discussion

I am at the point in my rewatch where it descends in to just a weird comedy soap opera for ages. I really don't like the way they wrap up the killer storyline but there are so many strong moments leading up to it. Now I've gotta sit through all the Windem 'Master of disguise' Earle for ages.

    This is great. Thanks!

Been in a bit of a funk with films lately. I watched a lot last year more than ever but now I'm finding it hard to watch them. I'm listless. Got the film malaise, what's the cure?
  18. Letterboxd

I really liked it a lot. Favourite film of last year. I really like a few of her films, her style really resonates with me. I find them really comforting despite most of them being quietly devastating. This is probably my favourite of her films actually...
  19. Letterboxd

Here I am. https://letterboxd.com/Woodfella/ I don't write reviews very often but I have been meaning to do it more. I use it to read what much smarter people (like Patrick, whos reviews I often enjoy btw) think and to keep track of what I've seen.
  20. Movie/TV recommendations

The first half is a cheese fest and the second half is like "Look at this guys guts! Look at this guys leg getting blown off isn't war hell? Oh here look at this guy charging in to battle using a dead legless guy as a shield while firing a machine gun with one hand, this definitely happened" (I did not enjoy it very much)
  21. I'm looking forward to the new podcast, ive kinda got video game malaise lately and stopped listening to video game podcasts. I kept up with idle thumbs though because I enjoy being listening to you boys talk. So if it's moving from nice boys talking about video games to nice boys talking about whatever is interesting them( I'm sure that's right) that's great!
  22. Twin Peaks Discussion

Been rewatching Twin Peaks in fuck off o vision and it is just the best. I think the first half of it is my favourite thing. Here's a gif https://media1.popsugar-assets.com/files/thumbor/ESbfUNlEfwBRwPNjpQmTjh1OCKY/fit-in/1024x1024/filters:format_auto-!!-:strip_icc-!!-/2014/10/16/236/n/1922283/3942522cba8513c3_sandwich-1/i/daughter-local-live-wire-hotel-owner-Benjamin-Horne.gif
  23. I'm glad you both like the gifts. So sorry it was so late! The ginger cookies are called lebkuchen by the way (I hope they've travelled ok)
  24. Yeah I assumed that was the case. I got really excited when I first opened the package cos I thought you'd sent me a dozen eggs

I saw Kelly Reichardt's Certain Women and loved it. I find her films to be so comforting, like she's sat me down in front of the fire and covered me with a blanket.
