  1. Hello there, this isn't about the episode specifically sorry but i dont know where else to put it. I was just wondering whether any of you have read Reflections: An oral history of Twin peaks by Brad Dukes. Is it worth a read?
  2. Books, books, books...

I already feel like I want to read it again so I might try that thanks! I have done nothing but read critiques and interpretations of it since i finished it. The ending!
  3. Books, books, books...

I finished Blood Meridian. I think it's he best book I have read, although that is not saying much (a close second is Mr Tickle). It's relentlessly grim, tense and brutal. Yet the language is totally beautiful at times. I found myself reading lengthy passages twice, three times just to get my head around them. It's about a lad who joins up with a load of bastards, led by a mad bastard and a big bastard. These said bastards cut about Texas/Mexico killing folk and scalping them . It's super good. Would like to hear an Idle Book club on it. Do they still do those? I feel like I've been beaten up, put through the wringer . I need something light and funny next I think... American Psycho it is.
  4. A Super Fun Quiz for everyone!

I see. Thought 2 going on at once was a tad confusing
  5. Books, books, books...

I am currently reading "Blood Meridian" and jesus effing christ! It's brutal and brilliant, I keep a dictionary close at hand and have to go back and reread a number of passages but oh boy do I really like this book. It's horribly grim and beautiful at the same time. McCarthy's prose is so weird, he uses strange and old words. I really like him though and have done for a while, I pretty much copied the first page of All the pretty horses for my GCSE creative writing exam(don't tell anyone) Wondering if anyone else has read Blood Meridian? I am on chapter XI so no spoils but what did you think?

  12. Spelunky!

Yeah. But what a forgot to say was, after that brief moment of silence I just hammer X and launch right back in!
  13. Spelunky!

I have been on a long break from this. My main laptop broke a while ago and haven't had the motivation to boot up the 360 version for ages. The other day I did and... I suck. I used to be good! I swear I did! Now I am making all sort of mistakes. I always get really, really sad and have a small moment of silence whenever I die on the first level or really early on. As it's random, I will never see that same world again. It's gone forever. I think on ahead to levels below and wonder what wonderful opportunities I have missed. Perhaps this could have been IT, this could have been the golden run, this could have been the high score, but with one tiny lapse of concentration I slip and I am impaled on some spikes. Dead. All those possibilities and opportunities gone in an instant. All those gems and possible diamonds; all those exhilarating close shaves; all those fun flights with the inevitable jet pack; all those kisses from the rescued pugs; all those fun times with playful yetis are gone. Lost. Like tears in rain.

  17. A Super Fun Quiz for everyone!

Yeah okay. Maybe leave it a day or so, let people have a go then collaborate. I can put the years of release out as clues too if its a struggle.
  18. Walking Dead Season the Second

played the first two episodes of this over the last week. Quite enjoyed it. I wasn't sure about how i'd feel about controlling Clementine, like my feelings toward her are attached to lee if you know what I mean. She's an established character and I've been seeing her through someone else's eyes, in the first season she was this person who you based all your decisions on and cared for the most. Now she's all those things AND YOU as well. I was really worried about it but by the end of the first episode I was really in to it. I really like this new savvier, more mature Clementine, she can be manipulative and a bit of a d*ck. It's also quite striking at times to be in control of someone so small. I really liked the moment in episode 2 where . Cant wait to play more but I am determined to ration it. One a week from now on. Make an event out of it, like a TV show. Get in to my dressing gown, pour a glass of whisky and play through it like a king. I do have one minor observation/ gripe. I would have loved an option for Clementine to say "Don't call me Clem" because Pete does that almost immediately and I was like whoa man that's a bit familiar... and lee called her that :'(. Although that would have created complications in dialogue down the road probs.
  19. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Dont remember much about TP other than the end boss and the cool spinning top item. Might revisit after I've finished this. Although I do have Wind Waker HD sitting here too.
  20. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Playing this at the moment. Really liked the opening/ set up. I like how the characters of their own little quirks and mannerisms. The writing/translation job is grand too, it's really quite funny. Like a kids cartoon at times. I also like how Link/Zelda have a sort of character now. Better than nothing. Just done the sandy temple and thought the whole time crystal thing was pretty cool. I enjoyed the build up to the dungeon too. It was like a little mini dungeon in itself. Skyward sword is weird because there is this big disconnect from the dungeons and the main area, skyloft. It's kinda set up like demon's souls, big hub area, with stuff to do and shops, then portals to varying environments, not that des is the only game like that, just one that came to mind. That disconnect doesnt really matter though because both areas are pretty darn great(so far). I am finding blue droning lady pretty irritating though. You should be able to set how much she assists you or something because at the moment she is permanently set to simpleton .Why does it play the little cutscene and "putting it the pouch" animation when you pick up a material for the first time on that session? I am an impatient man and I've seen it before!
