  1. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

You can consume things from the inventory. It won't work in battle, but outside of battle, it's X on the 360 controller I'm playing with. Consult the legend at the bottom of the screen, it's down there.

I've been carrying everything as well, selling stuff for gold every so often. I have been looking to find a dump spot though. I think I know where I can now, but I haven't tried this out to make sure things stick around. Don't want to spoil a story location, but it's about midway through the Ugly Baby quest: I really mostly mean to dump all my books, because they make my consumables tab a nightmare.

And seeing as how the game was so dedicated to it's Polish origins, that's why the game is full of untranslated Polish language, right? Or, just maybe, the developers made concessions to bring their game to a wider audience. Concessions which could have easily included adding some diversity in there, because in a story that involves magic and dragons, anyone who's pointing to people of color and saying "That doesn't belong here!" is a fucking loon. EDIT: This was a little too harsh and pointed. My apologies. That said, while I could have made my point in a much less antagonistic way, my point remains. I would replace this instead of leaving this sorry note, but I do have to leave for a while.
  4. XCOM 2

It's just that I don't like gaming sitting at my actual PC. I play basically everything on my couch with a controller and my PC piping video out to my TV. I will play stuff actually sitting at my PC, but it's just a real kick in the pants that a game I really, really want to play has gone backwards.
  5. Yeah. From the sound of it, it'll do an in-place upgrade, and as part of that it'll convert your existing license key to a Win10 license key. Then, from there, you could do a fresh Win10 install using your old Win7/8 license key.
  6. XCOM 2

FUCK. Nothing quite like reading a paragraph like that, which boils down to "We decided to double down on all the elements you hate and are trying to get away from".
  7. Movie/TV recommendations

Lost was a show I totally gave up on watching in the standard format up until the last few episodes. Somewhere in season 3, I said fuck this, and I'd let the whole season play out. If people I respected were still high on it, I'd go binge through the season. Actually, I want to say the breaking point was that fucking "we solve the mystery of Jack's tattoo" episode.
  8. XCOM 2

I dunno, I didn't find that snipers had a real problem with the vision mechanic .... once you learned that every sniper should have Squad Sight.
  9. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

So... (spoilers for that quest) Also, I don't want to say too much, because it'll give away the thing I love so much about it, but I'll just say that I really enjoyed the quest called "Little Red".

Don't know if it'll be Russia, but it'll be somewhere without an extradition treaty with the U.S. He's already spent the last two years making sure not to set foot here because he thought he'd be arrested if he did.
  11. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

I've only got up to the incident you describe there, but made a different choice. . Haven't seen any continuation past that yet.
  12. XCOM 2

I just really hope that they plan to still support controllers on the PC version. I played all of Enemy Unknown on a controller on my PC and it was my preferred way to play, so I'm gonna be bummed if they don't bother with the support because they're not doing console releases.

This is pretty much a pipe dream. Wardell basically is Stardock. He's President, CEO, and founder of the company. The HR employee who gets to help fashion the narrative about internal events at the company is Wardell's wife. The chances of him being forced out of a still-functional Stardock are slim to none.
  14. Movie/TV recommendations

Kung Fury was fun, but I'm glad it was only 30 minutes. If they'd tried to make that a 90 minute film, I feel like it would have run out of steam.
  15. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

Skellige also has some real high level content in there. I started in on Fists of Fury (the fistfighting tournament quest) there and my first opponent was level 27 and had a red skull. I've still got Novigrad and Skellige side quests to do, but I've finished the main quest through Velen/Novigrad/Skellige.
  16. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

Yes. There's a potion you can buy from some vendors. It costs 1000 gold.
  17. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

Yes. There's blacksmiths in Lindenvale and Blackbough.
  18. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

Yeah, so I went the other way on that. Heard about that outcome from someone else, though. Hoo boy. For the record, doing it the other way: Somewhat related but speaking more generally, does anyone else get the feeling CD Projekt seems to have something against kids? Goddamn.
  19. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

From what I know, I think that's fairly standard. However, there is variance to that quest I believe, it's just coming from how that plays out. WARNING: Spoiler for where the variance plays in:
  20. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

Yeah, I've basically quit locking on. When you're dealing with a pack, the lock-on isn't helpful, because it's too easy for someone to come from outside the camera's view and hit you. That's especially rough if you're playing on "Blood and Broken Bones", where you really can't afford to give up free hits.
  21. The Witcher 3: What Geralt Wants

Yeah, it's nuts. My time logged on the game shows 26 hours, I'm level 12, and I've just cleared all the single digit level quests from my log. The scope of this game is nuts, and yet I don't have that fatigue you get in so many open worlds where the missions are all so same-y that you just give up on them.
  22. That was a really, really weird spot to see Brett Gelman show up.
  23. I also loved Danny calling out Dan on what you just mentioned last page, about how he takes any opportunity to avoid having to admit he's wrong. Dan does introduce this great dynamic where you can have someone like Danny or John Drake come in and play Frank Grimes to Dan's Homer. Also, I gave up on the regular Bombcast feed after the ads got pretty stale for a while, and now wonder if I should get back on that and away from the ad-free version.
  24. Yeah, the Starbreeze game. He pulled it out for the multiplayer, which I feel was the best part of that game. The single player campaign was a fun little shooter campaign, but there's something really great about the multiplayer. The movement in that game felt great, the shooting felt amazing, and then combine that with these co-op missions where you were typically overwhelmed to where everyone had to kinda watch out for each other (at least on the harder difficulties). It made me so sad when the multiplayer community for that game just died off.
