I remember watching the Palmer family's reactions in the first episode and thinking "Ugh, this is hard to watch. But the show can't feature uncomfortable grief forever, so this is probably the last we'll really see of this." I don't, however, remember the exact moment I realized how ridiculous and naive that notion was.
