  1. #idlethumbs – Join the Idle Thumbs IRC channel!

Ok, I'm a huge dork for missing that character limit! But I have no regrets, because this image came out of it! That's hilarious. It has been a weird balance for me in getting more involved on the IRC/forums. On one hand I wanted to use my name at first, because my blogging/writing need all the exposure they can get. On the other hand that's unusual on the IRC/the internet generally. I also was leary about GGers jumping on something I say on here and attacking me for it down the line. I wanted to be able to speak freely/off the cuff/be a weirdo. I'm not it's sure super professional/advisable for a game journalist to be so active on an IRC/forum. Oh well, I feel like Idle Thumbs is an exception, because the community is so great. Anyway, thermal detomato forever.
  2. Social Justice

Matt Leacock is pretty awesome. So I wrote a thing: http://gamechurch.com/play-games-help-fight-ebola/
  3. Idle Workouts

I am to lazy to go back and look over this long(ish) thread to see if anyone already recomended Zombies, Run!. I own Reality is Broken, but haven't read it. Maybe it will persuade me to embrace gamification. Generally though, I find the idea of video games taking over increasing aspects of my life pretty gross. However, I really enjoy Zombies, Run! from Six to Start and Naomi Alderman. I have logged seventeen hours and forty-two minutes in it so far and I highly recommend it. The company also makes a walking version which Justin McElroy praised on The Besties. (If I'm just walking I prefer taking in my surroundings. With jogging I need the added motivation to get out and do it.)
  4. Jurassic World: Wasting away in Margaritaville

I'm just gonna leave this here: http://www.polygon.com/2014/11/25/7282759/jurassic-park-hidden-ending
  5. Jurassic World: Wasting away in Margaritaville

Agreed. Sad to see heart replaced with CG. Also I LOVE that when the trailer says "a Steven Spielberg film" it's Sam Neill giving the Spielberg Face. Spielberg face explained:
  6. Plug your shit

Like everyone else, I write about video games on the internet. Here's my portfolio site: http://www.marshallsandoval.com/portfolio/
  7. Jurassic World: Wasting away in Margaritaville

Ok the trauma victim thing threw me off. I though you were working in both.
  8. Jurassic World: Wasting away in Margaritaville

Haha, is that a reference to Awake? I don't care what tegan says, B.D. Wong is great; even if he's the only one that didn't turn them down.
  9. Idle Thumbs 166: Cyberpunk Cop-Killer

Agh! I'm in full agreement; this was the greatest. I loved the accent, the Jaws talk, and everything.
  10. Idle Thumbs 166: Cyberpunk Cop-Killer

Wow, I didn't know that at all. That's interesting. Are them some good, overlooked games that can be purchased there, that you'd recommend?
  11. Idle Thumbs 164: The Seed of a Sneeze

Chris mentioned how flush Roberts Space Industries must be. Now this is the only way I can imagine their office.
  12. Idle Thumbs 160: Die Übiverse

I had to post this when they started talking about the self driving car prototype (and how it looks like a face). I had the same thought. Disney/Avalanche Software just need to sue Google for this design.
  13. The E3 Retrospectapalooza

A release date or some sort of broad forecast for Morpheus would be great from Sony. Also, the year of Mr. Game & Watch.
  14. I haven't seen numbers either. It will be interesting to see how it plays out though. Gamasutra recently pointed out that something like 1/3 of games that being released on Steam are now early access titles.

I also failed to mention, you can follow me or throw me hot tips @marshllsandoval on Twitter. If you want to throw down I'm THRMLDETONTR on Hearthstone.
  16. New people: Read this, say hi.

HI, My name is Marshall Sandoval. I'm a long time listener and first time forum member. I've put off diving into the Idle Forums for a long time, but I figured if there's any community I'd like to dive into it's this one. I love Idle Thumbs and the way the crew discusses video games. I'm excited to join the forum community. Since I graduated last year, I've been trying to break into game journalism. (Feel free to tell me about writing job openings, haha).
