  1. Far Cry 2

For some reason I turned the music off pretty early in the game and I never thought about turning it back on, so I don't really remember it well. But it's strange how as a result of that I think of Far Cry 2 as a game defined by silence, only broken by sudden explosions, car engines and muted gunshots. When the credits rolled I thought it was really weird they didn't had any background music, but I took it as some sort of bold creative decision that kept in tone with the rest of the game. Then I realized that I had turned the music off since the beginning. I would also recommend not using the dlc weapons (incendiary crossbow and silenced shotgun), they are kind of overpowered compared to the regular ones.

I finished S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Prypiat recently, I´m not really a big FPS fan but this and Far Cry 2 have become some of my favorite games in recent memory. I think what I like the most about the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games besides the world and the atmosphere is how you don´t feel like the center of the virtual world you are inhabiting, but more like another small part of it. It makes you feel like the zone and its inhabitants don't really need you and could easily carry on without you, which i think is a really rare feeling in video games.
  3. THE EVIL WITHIN: Slurms MacKenzie

Yes, I´ve been intending to get them for some time now but something else always came up. Now thanks to the high recommendation I´ll make sure to play them as soon as possible, that Mikami cameo sounds neat.
  4. THE EVIL WITHIN: Slurms MacKenzie

I'm also looking forward to it! Even though horror games have been innovating a lot in recent times and this one seems to be quite on the traditional side of things. But I loved the REmake for gamecube and Resident Evil 4 (both directed by Mikami), and i hear Vanquish and God Hand are also really good.

Maybe Door kickers could fit the bill? I don't really know much about it, but it's a top down strategy game about SWAT teams. Seems much slower paced than Hotline Miami though.
  6. New people: Read this, say hi.

Hello, I'm an artist and illustrator from Mexico, I´ve been an Idle Thumbs regular reader for almost a couple of years now. I've tried listening to other video game podcasts but they talk about video games too much. Just decided to join the forums and say: Hi!
