  1. Adulthood, Age, and Modernity

When you guys say talk, do you mean full conversation at regular volume or just occasionally whispering stuff to the person you're with? Because I'm in the latter category, and proud of it.
  2. Bah! I'm out now because my Internet is still not actually workin. :/
  3. Post Your Game for Playtesting and Feedback!

You have my interest, but I can't seem to download It's Cold By The Sea and when I load KYS it doesn't let me go past the first screen? The only thing I can make happen is dieing on the spikes, otherwise I'm just moving around a static screen. Maybe it's my internet still acting up or something. :/ EDIT: Never mind the bit about KYS, I am a fool. I'm kind of curious what your feelings and thought process were for it now, I have a take on it but I'm wondering if I've actually grasped what you were saying or not.
  4. Ello.co

    Just messaged you one too!
  5. Ello.co

Sent an invite to you gavku.

Another issue with twitters approach is that Zoe Quinn has reported some of her harassers only to see their accounts resurface after a period of time, I think a week in one case.
  7. Adulthood, Age, and Modernity

@Griddelol: I just don't have that much attraction/interest in people unless I already know them a bit. For at least a couple weeks to a month. So if I want to do that, I can't meet someone and go straight to asking for a date. I'm still friends with my only ex, so maybe I'd have a lot more trouble if this had happened with multiple exes or even if it had been a messy affair of a break up. But luckily I've been unlucky with ladies and had few relationships.
  8. Ello.co

Also the gamer gate hashtag thing was a hoax, Ello didn't actually ban someone on that basis.
  9. Ello.co

Sent you both codes! Read in a highly sinister British voice.
  10. Steam Curation!

Flagging stuff as not interested doesn't affect the suggestion algorithm at all according to Steam, it just removes that one specific game from your suggestions.

Invites sent to jeremywc and brocialist. I have way more than I thought so I should probably start bringing people onto this site...

I did literally the exact same thing, I think I was just already feeling how ME3 was continuing in the direction of 2 (which I enjoyed but was ultimately disappointed by relative to 2) and I really didn't feel compelled to follow the thread through.
  13. Adulthood, Age, and Modernity

I've barely really done dates, I just tend to befriend people and develop an interest in them and transition to hanging out as a relationship maybe? ...I haven't really done well in the past by only having 2 1/2 relationships in total but it's working for me now anyway.
  14. Steam Curation!

From what I can tell, Steam seems to mostly care about what you have in your wishlist and follows, maybe your library too. It actually doesn't care what you've said you don't like, that barely factors. I've gotten better results since I started bulking up my wishlist to 30+ games, though I'll probably change that to follows since I'm using the wishlist the same way I always have, as a list of games that worked in their initial pitch but I want to find out more about them before I might buy em.
  15. Steam Curation!

The studio that makes Sunless Sea has an interesting list http://store.steampowered.com/curator/6856422-The-Echo-Bazaar/ (make sure you read their quotes about the games)
  16. D4 by SWERY

I'm really hoping this is just an 'Exclusive' because I saw the clam chowder scene and it makes me sad that I couldn't get Deadly Premonition to work.
  17. I Had A Random Thought...

    What about boxer pockets though?
  18. Recently completed video games

I found Mass Effect One much better than two because the plot coherence held out for that one game, but in two the illusion of my choices making any difference broke down and the story was going in an entirely different direction to where I wanted it to. The systems and game play and polish were all amped up for two, but those were the things I cared about the least.

I think this is a particularly prevalent concept of irish culture, where the idea of administration and rules are seen much more fluidly and not strictly necessary. But if you're offering something cheaper than others, people will take it even if it's illegally subpar because they might not afford the full price places that have all the required facilities. And of course crazy housing prices don't help this situation.
  20. Steam Curation!

Yeah, it does both but Iit seems like only a third are based on my library and wishlist while 2/3 are just hot things on steam. But I think having done a bunch of the recommendation queues has made it pay more attention to what I liked. Maybe a wishlist of 12 things was too few?
  21. Life

I've been apartment hunting recently, and I've seen things. There was even one pretty good house that had no freezer, and the agent had to explain to the landlord how he was legally obligated to get one. I think there's a group of landlords that really just don't want to bother with figuring out the rules and regulations of tenancy and want to own a place they can earn rent money out of.

Honestly Dear Esther to me felt like it was just a very slow moving roller coaster, where I'm free to look around but the actual path is the most linear I've seen in a game that wasn't just on rails.
  23. Steam Curation!

There are absolutely sometimes games outside of that, but at least for me personally I find that I need a real recommendation for that from someone. If a game is unappealing to me at first glance, I'll move on if it's steam suggesting it because the vast majority of games will fall into that category for me.
  24. Life

And you know if they can afford them they also have food and electricity, poor indeed!
  25. Steam Curation!

Not about curation, but the queue thing that suggests games to you apparently sometimes will show games because they are popular sellers or have a high metacritic score. Boo-urns. I have over 100 games in my library, can't they mostly recommend stuff on that basis?
